KY - you will leave someone open. All the players closest to the QB are eligible receivers (the way we set it up,) even the center, who wore #7, as he was also an end!. Blitz the players closest to the QB, and a receiver would be open. Bring someone over from the crowded side, and a screen back to that area would be like stealing. We moved the ball well - just had trouble in the red zone when the field shrinks and they could cover more ground; then their better athletes prevailed.

Rather than dodgeball on the HC social accounts, the extended break would have been nice for Nelson to give something, anything of substance for the few who are still interested in this program.
Besides a sprinkling of quotes here and there, I don't think Nelson has had to share anything publicly about the season so far.
No postgame interviews on ESPN+, no quotes in the T&G (if there have been, after only a game or two), no weekly shows, no commentary after a game distributed on the HC social channels, etc.
Not only is Nelson a bad coach who has produced historically bad results, he also seems to have zero interest engaging alums and fans of the program.

Despite the record in this changeover, it has not yet been established to most that BN is a "bad coach." As others have said and are doing, I will wait until the end of the season to make that sort of evaluation. Note, I'm not saying there is evidence yet that he is a good coach. That is still to be determined.

I remember than even the horrendous Sean Kearney was good at one thing: we had some pretty good inbounds plays

And Sean used to talk to the alums.

I am trying to be positive here given the world knows I think a change is is order asap. But this is a good thing, although might appear to be misguided given the results and lack of progress. I give Nelson credit for trying to help all in the program through a crazy environment- losing with regularity, Covid, injuries, and bad performances. If you cant make this enjoyable they will quit on him. His biggest mistake was never teaching them how to win- - fingers crossed it will come together in some form

And Sean used to talk to the alums. If FADDR had hired BN to replace RW and FADMB had hired SK to replace BC, SK would still be here in year three. Almost impossible for us not to have a few more wins.
