WICHITA, Kan. (Dec. 29) - The Wichita Thunder, ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Edmonton Oilers, AHL's Bakersfield Condors and powered by Toyota, announced today that forward Peter Crinella has been loaned to the Springfield Thunderbirds while goaltender Evan Buitenhuis has been loaned to Bakersfield.
Crinella, 25, is having a terrific start to the season. He leads the team with 13 goals and tied for the team-lead with 24 points. Crinella attended training camp with the Thunderbirds this past October.
A native of East Longmeadow, Massachusetts, the third-year forward is nearing a few new personal milestones. He needs seven tallies to set a new career-high in goals (19), five helpers to set a new career-high in assists (15) and nine points to set a new career-high in points (32).

Same league as the club that plays at the DCU.
Crinella was a rarity for D1 hockey- straight from HS to HC. No prep or Juniors.

Thanks Good to hear that he is doing well Is this league a feeder for the NHL ? The AHL, which he just joined, is the primary feeder for their parent NHL clubs. Or at least it was when I last paid attention to pro hockey.

We need Foley to post and explain to us why Crinella isn’t very good.

We need Foley to post and explain to us why Crinella isn’t very good. Well, since the NHL added taxi squads taking the top AHL guys up, the top end of the ECHL are filling the fourth lines in the AHL. Remember, he isn't under a contract in the AHL. I have seen guys that are out of hockey getting PTO's (Professional Tryout) in the AHL this year. Springfield has used 41 skaters already this year.

Bobby Butler is also a volunteer assistant for HC and works for the Jr Railers youth hockey ice hockey program. That can only help relationships between HC athletics and the Worcester area sports community similar to the successful HC football game at Polar Park.

Bobby Butler is also a volunteer assistant for HC and works for the Jr Railers youth hockey ice hockey program. Thanks for making my point even better...he isn't even focused on playing anymore that is how far we are down the depth chart the ECHL is.

Butler had a goal and 2 assists. I was at the game. Work for the Railers
The ECHL has had players showing up during the warmups.
As a coach it seems like you are never know who is going to play.
The other day the the Railers had only 15 players and the back up goalie was an off ice official. The back up goalie for Reading yesterday played at Union but works a regular job in the area. Emergency goalie if the starter got hurt.

If there is any year to get an EBUG into the game or to get some HC alums playing professional hockey, it is now! All these omicron cases coming up means chances for back-ups
