Update on Footballscoop.com as of Saturday. Offensive Skill, defensive skill and Head of football operations positions available. Football operations has been Mike Vulcano. Great guy! As the number #1 defense in FCS, three straight Patriot League championships and playoff experience we should be in a great position to get experienced talent for these jobs.

Even getting the same money (and he's probably getting more), moving to South Carolina should be a raise, no?

Any idea who Chesney would tap to be the next play-caller if this is indeed true? Coen, Murphy, and Roper all had experience calling plays prior to getting hired.

(I believe) There’s a coaches convention every January after the season ends (which is tmro) - lots of interviewing goes on there as I understand since assistant coaches are always moving around

That clinic is going on right now. Wouldn’t shock me to see Smith get the OC.

I get it but would love to get an established OC looking for a job

Promoting within the ranks makes sense for a program already moving ahead. For us we need proven talent

HC isn't a public entity so accessing salary info for assistant coaches isn't as easy, but would you guess HC paid more or less than those salaries for the same position at a slightly lower level of FCS but perhaps in a slightly higher cost of living location?

Really. With no income tax or sales tax? Just sharing the stats from that site. New Hampshire has the fourth highest property tax in the country. It is nearly double the Massachusetts average.

The American Football Coaches Assn. (AFCA) annual convention is Jan. 9-11 in San Antonio. I suspect a lot of informal recruiting of coaches at the FCS/FBS level takes place each year at that convention. Stay tuned…

Malone is an asst now at Bowling Green so he knows Kit pretty well I’d think - he has spent most of his career in the Midwest but I wonder if he would ever consider returning to HC

On more than one occasion, former ADMB has said that salaries for assistant coaches at HC are "at or near the bottom of the PL." Ergo, I think it's likely that HC pays less for these coordinator positions. Need to grow the CAF or get an endowed coaching position or two at HC.

Perhaps start out with a ten year naming right endowment opportunity with right to renew (at then current prices) to get the ball rolling at a lower entry cost than for a permanent endowment (permanent unless any slaveholders or rum runners are discovered in the family tree of course).

Is Roper leaving (aside from if it was a $$$ issue) really that much of a blow? The offense seemed to sputter at times this year....Sluka basically won the Sacred Heart game by himself.
Very simplistic analysis I know....gotta run and can't get into it now....but I think losing DeAndrade was much biggah blow.

hc87 We'll be okay. The world of college coaching is constantly changing. I trust Coach Chesney has a plan.

Losing an OC never helps in terms of continuity. But overall I think they will be fine. We had 3 OC's in my 4 years. It's never easy, but you get through it.
From a recruiting standpoint they don't lose anything with Roper - didn't recruit GA, SC, NC well at all over the past 2 years. Or at least in terms of getting anyone to sign.
I agree - losing DeAndrade a much bigger blow. Can't win without talent. Vaganek, Smith, Canan, DeAndrade, James, Chesney are getting the talent.
