Roper loss may not hurt but it all depends on who the new OC and offensive strategy will be.

A program like Holy Cross will never be able to keep good, young assistants very long. It's just part of the deal.
You can however make them stay a little longer with bumped up salaries.

The financial transaction holds people for a brief period, but you need it to last about 2 years more so they realize what they started can be a lifetime treasure
Start by doubling their salary it is only money
We should try and make HC a great financial opportunity for coaches and a lifetime of working with special student athletes that win or come close to 1AA championships every year-therefore the best job in college football

Note that hated IL HYP seem to keep their coaches for many years. They truly build a program. Obviously, some do not want to emulate the IL but still... In my truly humble opinion the IL is the gold standard.

Speaking of Furman, anyone know why we played them in 1975 and then nevah again afterward? Just seemed like an odd scheduling then...were they a late pick-up on the schedule then?
I know Colgate has played them recently....I'd like to see up play some SoCon teams every so often down the road.

Hc87 I played in that game in 1975. We lost by I believe a touchdown. It was interesting playing a team from the south back then. I guess Mr. Perry must have known their AD at the time. It was a great game. Very warm. Obviously.

Steve Verbit, Sr. Association Head Coach, will start his 37th season with Princeton this fall. Wide receivers coach Brian Flinn joined from Villanova and will start his third season this fall. So yes I think the university pays coaches well but also offers a great benefits package. A former neighbor, who was on the staff of PU in an academic role, told me that the university will provide a mortgage at 1.5% below the current rate and will also put in up to 1/3 of the cost of a home in equity. Easy to offer these kind of comp packages with an endowment in excess of $30B.

Any updates on our openings? With signing day around the corner, Iβd imagine that weβd want the OC position filled unless Chesney is messaging an existing coach will takeover play calling duties.

I haven't heard anything on OC or CB coach or if there are going to be other openings on the staff.

I hope Kit and TPTB don't drag their feet and string Coach Chesney along regarding increased staff compensation as we lose qualified candidates to schools that have their stuff together.

longsuffering Don't worry not going to happen. Kit Hughes just sat in his new chair. We are not going to lose recruits as you can tell with the coaching staff hitting the streets.

The Ivy League isn't even in the conversation south and west of Philadelphia.

Just thought of this. Despite the IL gold most Pl teams are competitive with IL teams - Brown, Columbia, Cornell, Penn - in f-ball. I fully anticipate HC will beat Harvard or Yale next season. This is despite the overwhelming advantage in money & prestige of IL schools. The Pl competitive advantage is in admissions. And b-ball? The top outfits in the PL can more than hold their own against IL opponents. Maybe, I'm a hopeless romantic but I have to believe the Cross will be back and dominate both the PL and IL. GoCrossGo.

This guy will "engineer" some improvements.π Actually I have no idea who he is replacing but whoever is the current equipment manager is up to a three time champion. I hope this transition indicates HC is a positive place to work, learn and achieve excellence.
I wonder if MIT added football at some time in the recent past. I don't remember hearing about MIT football years ago like I did about Tufts, WPI, etc.

According to Wiki, MIT played their first football game in 1881 and beat Exeter College. In 1901 the student body voted 119-117 to discontinue intercollegiate football. In 1978 a group of students started a club program without telling the administration and repurposed uniforms from Rochester Tech who had recently dropped football. An MIT athletic administrator Jack Barry (HC's Jack Barry or relation?) eventually gave them the go ahead and after a few years they became a varsity sport and won championships in 2014 and 2019.
