Did the announcers even once wonder out loud why Louth and Bubba weren't playing?? If no, why even bother having them there? Absolutely not. They are too busy telling us how great the potential of this team is and that Nelson is an enthusiastic charismatic leader.
Are you surprised?

Yeah...I'd be pretty shocked if he were fired after this season (for many of the reasons stated above)....no inside info etc, but it wouldn't shock me if he stepped down and takes another P5 assistant job somewhere. He clearly is a "fish out of water" as well as not being ready for a head coaching position. He might be in a position to negotiate HC picking up the salary difference (might not be too much) even if he voluntarily made the switch to a P-5 assistant position, if he could find one.

He's not resigning when he gets a ton of $ thrown at him to do a horrible job without recourse.

Time to resurrect the great Johnny Most. Johnny NEVER said a disparaging word about the Celtics....

I was familiar with the smooth mellifluous great Marty Glickman. Come up to Worcester. Heard the raspy-voiced Johnny Most. OMG, he was a force of nature. Johnny was the ultimate "homer."No-one ever accused Johnny Most of being accurate. Hugely entertaining, yes, accurate, no... Loved it.

But he got the last laugh with a great career and a long happy life.

Just to clarify, it was the American coaches who knuckled under and pulled Marty off the relay...not the Nazis. It was a complicated political decision but IMHO it was the wrong one to make.

Marty Glickman was actually covering UConn hoop on the radio in 1986....had the pleasure of meeting him while doing a game on WCHC at the Hart.. Wonderful man.

If we dont make a change the CAF dollars for hoops will move from hoops to the gridiron Or A charity of choice

Was Jen T or anywhere else from the T&G not covering the game today?
That’s a real shame if, on a home game over a weekend, the T&G isn’t even covering the game.

That should have been a foul on the floor but JM can’t pick up a T there It's absolutely impossible for that not to be a foul. Up fake, guy lands on JM's back. Same guy let a lot go both sides but that must be called.

The T&G might have a short blurb on the game in tomorrow’s paper, maybe. If HC plays a night game, whatever they put in will be 36 hours after the game. No radio, almost no ink from the T&G, little interest from the local community. It is hard to fathom how irrelevant HC hoops has become.

Unfortunately, we missed the bunny.

In 28 minutes, Kenny took one shot (missed) had one assist, two blocks, one steal, and committed one foul. One would think that being out on the floor for 28 minutes there would be more statistics accumulated by accident. I'm more pissed off by a kid who made a great steal and slowed down to dunk the ball, allowing the guy behind him to catch up and block the shot, not by guys who are doing the best they can (granted, some of them can't do much).

It is bad coaching but it is the lack of support from the President and BOT that has killed this program
I also have a sense that the success of football, while great for all of us, is troubling for the institution. So while we need to overhaul athletics and improve academics it is time to transform the board with people that understand the way the world works and get rid of political appointments🎤

So what was with the masks, which half the players had on and none had even covering their mouths?
Some sort of statement by someone?

I am concerned that none of the members wants repeated success in sports as it creates an athletic monster that is not part of their academic conversation. Could I be wrong? Certainly, but over the last two decades what has the league or the individual schools done to promote or invest/reinvest in the sustainable athletic successes of its programs?
I am still trying to name something on my list so please name something as I don’t like what is happening and hope I am missing something

TPTB are funding the whole apparatus, the checks are clearing but nobody is intervening when there is a mass exodus from the BB team or asking the tough questions before hiring a neophyte AD to hire a neophyte Head Basketball Coach and then the first neophyte moves on and leaves us with the neophyte he hired. It doesn't cost more to have veteran professionals among TPTB who engage and use their experience and judgement for HC's benefit. I agree with you that the hires indicate TPTB have viewed HC as not being a serious winning D-1 school and a good place for a young professional to get his/her start and make his/her mistakes, before moving on. And of course be capable of winning the introductory press conference.

The late Rep. John Lewis called this "good trouble." I understand the concept of fearing academics will be overlooked by excitement generated by championship football but in reality academics isn't generating much attention, so they gain from spin off attention from winning sports. A good example is the halftime video tribute to WBB player Oluchi Ezemma. She is a science pre-med major. This summer she conducted behavioral experiments with live pigeons housed in Beaven. I never would have known that HC had that high level of research or actually kept live animals for research on campus if I hadn't been tuned into a sports game.

Agree these are important parts of a program and institution and really make people think it is a school that is committed-I think it is a great accomplishment that makes you feel good, but what is it doing to help a team win, attract better players and improve the product — probably not much- Yet it helps the PL mission od doing little for the players, schools and fans
