Don’t know what but I have a feeling something is up. I noticed Coach Scott James Twitter eyeballs 👀 looking at Kit Hughes signing something. I think we should stay tuned.😉😉

The kitchen has a few chefs and if one or two options evolve this board will spring with new life The strategic plan is a dead document imho The strategic plan for athletics is being incorporated into the strategic plan for the college, the latter being finalized this summer. Vince is presently engaged in listening sessions with various constituencies about the strategic priorities and objectives outlined in the plan. Marcus completed his part of the strategic plan early, surely with the approval of the BoT, probably because there are certain initiatives in that plan, including several capital projects, that are tied to the college's budget for 2022-23. The college's budget for 2022-23 has now been set. If the AD were to miss the 2022-23 budget cycle, then the athletic department would have to wait until 2023-24 for these initiatives. Quite likely that Kit does not have the authority to sign a construction contract, or an A/E contract, so my guess he is signing either an employment contract, or a schedule contract for a game against a future OOC opponent with a $x,xxx, xxx payday.

A NIL deal? George's CI dogs, McGuire's and Herbie's in the mix?

Would appreciate someone who has and understands Twitter to explain how we get from "Just another day at the office . . . ." to "Something is Cooking?"
Can't speak for an AD position but in my old jobs there were a lot of things I had to write (how do we know Kit is "signing" something?) every day and often pretty mundane things.
Maybe there isn't jumping to conclusions here if there is more to it than meets my eye. Twitter experts?

Although there are a few people on social media who do detail every moment of their days, presumably he would not tweet about some every day document he was signing.

I think the fact that hashtag Stay Tuned was used as well as Scott James retweeting the post with eye balls to indicate - look out for an announcement of some sort in the near future regarding the program - e.g., future opponent; Chesney extension - who knows what it is.

Taking both together, I think it is more than a equipment contract. It is either NIL or schedule.

Assuming that an announcement is on it's way, it's refreshing to see an AD engage with the fan base through social media channels as well as traveling with VRG down to DC a few weeks back.

Bob Chesney Extends Contract with Holy Cross! As a valued season ticket holder, we would like to thank you once again for your support of Holy Cross Football. In appreciation of your dedication to the Crusaders, we would like to give you early access to some very exciting news.
WORCESTER, Mass. – Holy Cross and head football coach Bob Chesney have agreed to a new five-year contract extension, Director of Athletics Kit Hughes announced on Tuesday, Feb. 8. The new contract will keep Chesney as the head coach of the Crusader football program through the 2026 season. “I could not be happier with this process and the opportunity to reaffirm the College’s commitment to excellence for Holy Cross Athletics,” Hughes said. “Under Coach Chesney’s leadership, our Crusader student-athletes have achieved new heights in the classroom, community, and field of competition. I am excited to support him in our shared vision for the future and continue to build upon the tremendous foundation already in place. I want to thank President Rougeau and our leadership team for their support and trust throughout this process. This was a true team effort and the best is certainly yet to come for Holy Cross Football and Crusader Athletics. You can read the full release at 10:00 AM on goholycross.com. Donate

Wow - that's pretty big news. 5 Year deal.
Great for kids on roster. Great for incoming recruits, great for Alumni. Big Big Deal.
Got QB Coach this week. This news. Hopefully get CB coach as well. Pretty good week. Cap it off with a couple of recruiting wins would be icing on the cake.
If anyone can spin a negative twist on this news - God Bless.

We all know contracts aren't worth the paper they are printed on -- if a big enough school comes fishing for HCBC they can get him. I just hope his potential buyout is large enough to keep away other "larger" FCS schools.

We all know contracts aren't worth the paper they are printed on -- if a big enough school comes fishing for HCBC they can get him. I just hope his potential buyout is large enough to keep away other "larger" FCS schools. It depends on what the contract says. Chesney might have agreed not to leave for 2-3 years, or there might be other provisions that make it a little more difficult for him to leave. Of course, if someone wants to leave they're going to, but this is great news.
