#5 Iowa and Fran McCrybaby go down to #12 Richmond.. McCaffery in 12 years at Iowa, despite having a number All Americans and a National Player of the Year (Garza), has never taken the team to the Sweet 16.
As you can imagine, the posters on the Iowa sports message board are just a tad frustrated.
Many are calling for his head.

I have been stinking the joint out and lost my champion on the first round. Yet, somehow I'm in 2nd place. You people should be ashamed

I don’t want to detract from any of the excitement from tonight’s championship game, but the 2022 Crossports Bracket Challenge winner emerged after the two eminently watchable Final Four games on Saturday. Both hc99 and hcpride had the prognosticating chops to select Kansas to win the championship. While it still remains to be seen whether Kansas actually will come out on top, hc99 has an unassailable lead in the competition and will be our ultimate winner. Congratulations to hc99!! The only remaining drama is whether hcpride will be able to ride Kansas to pass Tom for 2nd place. The rest of us are left to live in ignominy and forever wonder how we could have made such awful picks. But seriously, thanks to all for participating and let’s keep on longing for the day when our own Crusaders will be able to once again go dancin’
Just to show the unpredictability and craziness of filling out brackets, in the other March Madness pool I’m in my 6 year old grandson helped his dad enter a bracket where he picked Murray State as champion. And wouldn’t ya’ know it, his bracket won it all!
