I know probably nobody really cares but since things are slow I'd throw this out there. Clark is searching for a new WBB coach after the retirement of longtime coach pat Glispin. I always thought Clark should be a top program in the NEWMAC with the ability to recruit nationally. They have a strong history but recently have fallen off the radar. Was wondring if this would be something Anne McInerney would be interested. Too bad things ended the way they did for BG. He is an alum and this would be a nice little job for him to ride off into the sunset after a few years. I'm sure they will be no shortage of applicants since this is a pretty good D3 job.

BG wasn't fired, he didn't break any laws or NCAA regs. I think his application would be given consideration.

Why would Clark be better in the NEWMAC when they have MIT and WPI for the science type kids, Babson for the business kids, Smith (speaks for itself), and Springfield for the jock athletes all being bigger draws in WBB?

I would guess that Coach Gibbons is about 63. Not exactly young, but not too old to jump back in if he were interested in going back to his alma mater. Coach McInerney has done pretty well in her gigs. Might have had head coaching opportunities if she weren't so tied to Worcester. If either had an interest in the job, they would be a good pick choice for Clark.
Way back in the Wally Halas days, Clark men had some D-III national success. That semi ancient history is about the only thing that might make Clark special as a basketball history. And ancient history isn't helping HC that much right now
If Smith speaks for itself, I would say that Mt Holyoke and Wellesley also speak for themselves. Although those high brow institutions don't necessarily translate into great success in the more common sports

Does Smith have a nickname or mascot? My daughter went to Scripps, and they were the "Athenas".

Correct you are, Wally is George's grand nephew; i.e., his brother's grandson. Grew up in Fairfield CT.
