Same thing is happening with Holy Cross football. Win and the money will follow.

And then the kids (at least some of them) who made it happen are leaving......just kind of sad to me.

Is it BN's fault? Everything else seems to some to be.

Nelson is responsible for enough of the problems no need to put more on him-- it is sad all the way around, but what is worse is we decided not to eat his contract and change the direction of the basketball program. What is the saying -- IF if and buts were candy and nuts oh what a party we would have.....
O what could be-- and I don't buy we would lose multiple players to the portal in the future. PL schools that win games with good coaches seem to have held their own so far in this process.

...unless that coach hits the road for personal gain.

St.Peter’s best big, KC Ndefo, went into the Portal AND the NBA draft pool today.

Look not an easy path to navigate in the past or future in any sport as a member of the PL. Until we are willing to bifurcate the approach to sports and academics, we are where we are-lost in space
Best option CAA for football only Jesuit conference to be established-east/west division for all other sports
Kit needs to make this happen before we have nothing to look forward to in any sport

Yes, an all-Jesuit conference is bound to solve all problems.

Kit can make an east west Jesuit Conference happen on his lunch hour.
A Jesuit Christmas Tournament might be an easier first step and that would probably take multiple years and shaking many trees to happen.
Dave Gavitt had an easier time spearheading the birth of the Big East as many programs were independent at that time.
Unfortunately Dave isn't walking through that door anymore.

An all Jesuit conference actually solves many issues for similarly situated schools and many need to be looking at a path forward or we will each begin an uncomfortable death in the world of payments and portals
Take charge of the future and control your destiny or live with our undesirable future

Wouldn't HC playing Gonzaga in BB be like the turnpike trophy on steroids? What problem does joining a league with Holy Cross solve for two fine Jesuit Institutions like Gonzaga and BC?

I can't imagine that any athletic director feels any affinity for other colleges run by the same religious order. College presidents likely do, but notAD's.

BOTs can be incestuous with membership often including people with a background involving multiple Jesuit Schools. But ADs are professionals and generally wouldn't weaken their program by associating with lower level programs just because of a Jesuit connection

Realistically slim chance but given the new world it might have some appeal to many on the list above
I raised it at a recent Gregorian Board conversation
It wasnt dismissed and wasnt embraced

Yet another moot thread.
HC would be in the Big East before there would be the likes of a national Jesuit conference of small schools that bring in virtually zero media $ & attention shuttling teams coast to coast.

Wouldn't the new league be a step down from the predominantly Catholic WCC? Also, I'm a pro-environmet person. I see the environmental advantages of geographically cozy conferences.
