God bless him but honestly thought he passed this milestone a couple or more years ago. (I wasn’t a math major!😂)

Togo makes the photo but not the caption or even the article. Could be a first for him. Good that he led off the video. A fine job by Kevin Shea Too bad Jenn Toland did not pick up on this.

1. Bill Gibbons in attendance (!?) 2. Pepe's? Any connection to Frank Pepe's in CT (and in recent years, RI)?

Fr. Markey looks fantastic at 90... I bet he could still send out notices summoning people to his office on Monday morning to explain a party that broke out.

Togo was there as a teammate and probably friend. Fr Markey had no connections with athletics that I am aware of since his playing days. Coach Gibbons shared an interest in basketball, but I wouldn't think he'd be any more likely to be there than someone like Anne McDermott or any other employee from a totally different department. A more relevant question might be were nephews Bill or Rob McGovern there?

It does not appear that Pepe’s in Worcester is part of the Frank Pepe’s restaurant family. order.pepespizzeria.com/all-locationsFrom watching an interview with the owner of Pepe’s Italian Restaurant in Worcester, it is a different family. Take a look of the YouTube video on the link below. pepesbrickovenpizza.com

Tom, BG was definitely there. While you cannot see him in the still picture posted above, if you click on it, it is actually a video with Kevin Shea and Gibbons is prominently sitting in the audience though not interviewed or mentioned.
My "(!?") was not a question whether he was there or not, it was my surprise and question why he would be there.

So he was.
Maybe they were friendly even though they worked in different departments. In a similar note, Coach Blaney is in the video, although closer in age to Fr Markey.

BG just have been a friend of FM..I'd think the gathering was about friendship and not Holy Cross..

Father Markey was a frequent spectator at women's games. I'd be more surprised if Gibbons wasn't there.

Fully understand that and would not be surprised if they were very good friends. Still, having heard Fr. Markey talk during the Crusader campus forums one can't help drawing the conclusion that he bleeds deep purple. I also felt Bill Gibbons bled what I call "adopted purple" having been on campus far longer than the average HC alum. And I also understand it was Fr. Markey's birthday, not some official Holy Cross celebration and he could have anyone he wants there. I also recognize BG was never fired - a fact that he seems to dispute in theory, if not in actual practice with his lawsuit.
Just a strange thing to see Gibbons at this event. Probably just me. Making a leap of logic, I suspect this was Fr. Markey's way of sending a message of support for BG.
