Any guesses how many total HC players Hero has in the top 25 per position and at what rank? I’ll go first and guess 4-6… QB - Sluka #19 (done) LB - Dobbs #4-5 Anderson #18-23 DL - Kuz bubble/maybe #20-25 (matters if they separate DT’s from DE’s) DB - Smith (bubble/maybe #20-25) WR - Coker (outside shot, my guess is first 4 out)

I think Newman has a shot at OL. Ng at Kicker.

These lists tend to favor tenure for OL so with only one full season (albeit a really impressive one), I think Newman misses out. He will be on there going into 23’ though. Good call with Ng if they list 25 kickers.

Was this same type of ranking done before last season?

Herder/Hero did the Best player per jersey number last year (Dobbs was the only HC player to be recognized as the best to wear #27). I don’t believe top 25 per position was done. Herder really becoming the go to source for FCS news and broadening his coverage / commentary.

I think this season will be full of surprises and there are sophomores on the team that will be in play on this list. I look for Shorter and Peterson to be in the conversation with catching a lot of balls and TD’s. Call me crazy but I see a lot of vertical plays being made!

I have heard things about Sulka that would seem to indicate that his passing game will be much stronger in this coming season.

good PR video for #92 wonder if SID nominates our numbers? I should hope so. I think one of the keys to effective PR is making it easier for media people to do their jobs: coming up with story angles , providing B roll, furnishing Q & A. In this case you have to figure there’s no way the website could check out every player from every team, so you provide them with all the info on a half dozen guys and make it easy for them to include your players

Colgate has no entries to our nine. Don’t get to Polar Park late.

I think we are playing Bucknell at Polar Park this year. Colgate was last year.

It’s great to have players on the list and, more importantly, to have more players on the list than our opponents have. There were 98 FCS players on NFL 53 man rosters (don’t know how many were on practice squads) at the start of last season. If you figure the typical FCS player has, for sake of argument, a 3 year career we might estimate that 30 or so players of the 600 on the list could make the NFL each year

The list reads more like a list of guys likely to make first team all league rather than a list of guys who will play on Sundays.
