Agreed, we will know a lot more by next Sunday. Tidbits so far: - Both WR and DBs very deep. Look for some battles this week in 1 on 1’s and 7 on 7. A healthy Dom Thomas is “different”. Just need his luck to change and stay healthy all season. - Several Sophs and Juniors very impressive gains in the offseason. Looking Bigger, stronger, faster. - Boobie Santiago and Joe Metzger both made the “1200 club” as freshman. (Minimum 1200 total lbs on combined weight of one rep bench, squat and clean) Very rare for an incoming freshman to accomplish.

Those two are 300 pound frosh and (IMHO) it’s quite a get for us to land strong (as well as heavy) frosh. Santiago was one I didn’t think we’d get and Metzger, BTW, threw almost 59 feet in the shot put a couple of months ago.

At a presentation last month Coach Grautski showed the 'Dynamic Output Measurement' Scores for the top 34 players from each of the last 4 seasons’ rosters. Scores appear to include the weightlifting numbers plus numbers for body weight, vertical leap, 40-time, pro agility time, height & wingspan. Apparently, 'DOM' was developed by pro scouts. 1200 is the minimum level score 1500+ is elite level. Four seasons ago. 2 were elite level+: 4 were below the minimum Last season none of the 34 were below minimum; 26 were elite+

FWIW, most of the freshman weights are inflated and might show future goal weights before they arrived on campus. Boobie is probably ~285 and Metzger ~290. Colin Reynolds has to be a typo becasue he’s ~250 not 290. If we accurately update all weights from first day of camp weigh ins, I would expect many of the freshman to come down but several current players to be higher. One example is JR DE Brian Vaganek who’s still listed at 234 lbs from last fall but is now pushing ~250.

From the weight room, I also heard that RB Jordan Fuller and DB Joe Rivers claimed strongest overall at their respective positions. I hear that some of the players refer to Fuller as being like a Marvel comics character. As was noted previously, several sophomores and juniors have added some size this off-season. Hopefully it translates onto the field.

They both are huge young men. Somebody is going to get a headache this fall hitting either one of them.

We seem to be stacked in the RB department, but I have to think we'll see more of Jordan this year,

I really hope so. Would like to see a backfield with both Peter Oliver and young Fuller.

It’s called a tease SOV! Taking guesses…or I can go speculate about future conferences in 5 years (put me down for a revamped Yankee football conference with the core PL and New England CAA.) And I’m sure the PA fans/alums would be fine with the Yankee label as some of the most bad-ass hardcore abolitionists came from PA including one of my personal heroes Congressman Thaddeus Stevens (wonderfully portrayed by Tommy Lee Jones in “Lincoln”)

There were 11 guys who ran it better than 4.60. I'll guess Anderson clocked it at 4.51

You've got a perfect storm a-brewin' up on College Hill... -> A great head coach -> Young, energetic staff -> Dedicated to football strength coach who is really, really good at what he does -> Off the chart recruiting -> A full COVID, redshirt class ->AD, President, and Admissions behind the football program -> Alumni base (with money) getting behind the program
It's going to be a great and fun next couple of years. Enjoy it.

Nice research SOV. The LB that ran the 4.42 was also an Anderson from the FCS. Troy Anderson from Montana State at 6’3.5 / 243 lbs. All around freak athlete similar to Liam. Our Anderson played QB and Safety in HS and could have played D1 baseball should he have so desired. Troy Anderson played QB and RB at MT state before moving to OLB then to ILB. He was projected to be a 3rd or 4th round pick but his combine performance landed him in round 2 as the 58th overall pick to the Falcons. Not saying Liam is destined for that but watch for the Anderson comparisons if he has another season of comparable production to what he had last year. While an inch shorter and 10 lbs lighter, Liam ran two laser timed 40’s at 4.49 and 4.51. Grautski hand timed him at 4.46. Remember, at most collegiate pro days, scouts still use hand timers (many still prefer them to the laser). The combine is one of the few venues that only uses a laser for all speed and agility drills. For reference, Benton Whitley ran two 40’s at the HC pro day and the scouts had his fastest at 4.68 and his slowest at 4.73 which was considered a very good showing for his long ~260 lb frame. It’s very likely that we have 4 or 5 Saders performing at the HC pro day next Spring (all else being equal with another high quality season and without injuries)…Anderson, Dobbs, Olsofka and Smith (potentially Ayir as well if he chooses not to use his Covid redshirt)
