Much smaller and lower than the home side. Analogous to Fitton. Of course they have no end zone seats on either end. They should put a camera location on the home side, then. No reason to not give up a few seats given their poor attendance.

Also, there are very different receivers...IMHO that is a huge factor that makes any meaningful comparison of passers from different teams/eras most difficult. I'll bet the receivers from decades ago would have loved to have the gloves that receivers use today. I'll bet those gloves have cut down dramatically on dropped passes--almost seems like today's gloves have suction cups and stick-um..... The legendary Three Finger Brown would have no problem counting the number of one handed catches in a season if there were no gloves.

I’m not sure if this has been mentioned, and I am in the camp of those who feel like we didn’t look particularly sharp today, but don’t forget that the Colgate loss to Stanford was 41-10. And we could have easily picked up another TD at the end.

It was a trap game and we partially fell into the trap. Luckily the talent differential and special teams play is such that we could play so-so at best and still come up with a big W. So-so will not be enough against the Crimson.

And Murphy is not going to implode under pressure at the end like Conlon did yesterday on the Fordham sideline. The Harvard come from behind at the last minute to tie Merrimack and then win in overtime was impressive.

HC92 - could not agree more.....14 points off special teams (blocked punt lead to great field position and a TD - then the fumbled punt at the end of the fourth quarter lead to another TD) and then 7 points from great field position after the interception in the third quarter.....Those really turned the game in our favor.
Offensively, it just seemed we were out of sync all day...good plays followed by an off target pass or stuffed at the line of scrimmage....It was certainly not the offensive production and domination we saw against Yale. Sluka threw a few perfect throws - but then looked like the Sluka of last year a few times....Just need a little more consistency there.
Defensively - the guys were stout throughout the first half....As the game went on, there were a few breakdowns and missed tackles along the sidelines in particular - but when it needed a stop, just tremendous. Pressure on the QB was pretty relentless - and I do think the Colgate QB was a handful once we got in space!
And let's hope the injury to Dobbs is minor - his ability to get to the sideline and track down the RB's coming out of the backfield is really needed!
And yes, solid win -- and yes, they can and have played better!
On to Harvard!

Actually Frankie Monte, sophomore LB from New Jersey, was the back up. Bolden started at LB with Dobbs & Anderson.

Did anyone see SFA beat an NAIA team 98-0 today And they went for 2 when they scored their last TD (didn’t convert)!

That is disgraceful. Such poor sportsmanship has to have consequences somewhere...I would hope.

Sorry if this has been discussed but who filled in for Dobbs after he came out? Bolden and Frankie Monte got most of the reps at LB when Dobbs went down.

The PL has some horrid offenses this season - only HC and Fordham are worthy of FCS football - the worst is Lafayette which has scored 27 points in four games their coach finally changed QB’s yday

Consistency is not a part of his running, to the historic benefit (first post season win ever) of HC. I wonder if his extremely quick mind makes it harder, but certainly not impossible, for him to become as consistent a passer as some other QBs. A coaching challenge, but a great one to have.

Colgate came to play as I expected. HC handled it well for the most part. Our passing was a bit more inconsistent than in earlier games but some of the passes were spot on. This may sound crazy but I think this Colgate team may give Fordham a run for their money.

Any word of Dobbs' injury? I highly doubt and hope there will be no talk of Dobbs’ injury in the public forum. Whether he’s 100% ready to go Saturday or out indefinitely. Like Harvard, most should and will find out at the coin toss on Saturday at 1pm.

BTW...my analysis from the game: Pregame on this forum I predicted a 31-10 HC victory so it seems I was fairly accurate with the 35-10 score. How we got there was much different then I expected. The D and ST's were strong throughout the game. What we learned is Colgate has a tough interior of their Defense and took away our interior run game. I felt we had the advantage on the outside and it showed up at times but without getting into a rhythm of any sort offensively not much was sustained. TO's were the difference and we will need a few this week as well. Harvard has a very good D-Line and we will need to play much better upfront on Offense if HC is to get the win. Injuries are becoming a concern as we now have lost Peterson, Ross, Purdy, McMurtrie, Shipman and Dobbs to injuries for parts or all of each game this year. Here's hoping for better health going forward.
