The Bucknell message board was mostly silent. Calling the talent gap between us "jarring" and their squad "an abomination." They are calling for some changes. Would not be surprised if they call for dropping football soon! I'm not sure core PL members can afford to drop football. The tuition rack rate almost demands they provide a full service college experience.

Be careful of what is said, as the decision making of this league of academic convenience could easily shift yo a D3 option for most as we live in crazy times of insane guilt and blame

Holy Cross wandered too many years in the desert to give up FCS football now.

Agree we would need to find an option whatever it might be
A new ECAC NORTH?? Might be better than the CAA
From schools starting with Villanova north
But for today let's enjoy the moment....

Anyone heard from our Bucknell posters?
They lived here while running away with the league in hoops years ago. Hope all are ok.

I thought Slade looked good. A shifty runner. Rivers ran hard as well. I can see the resemblance to Oliver’s downhill running style.

Rivers definitely reminds me of Ollie. I love how Ollie keeps the legs moving through the tackle or high steps out of some.

Slade's running reminds me a bit of Jimmy Marcelino from back in the day.

There’s talk of us having Fort Totten as part of next year’s MBB OOC schedule.

Slade's running reminds me a bit of Jimmy Marcelino from back in the day. Don’t know Jimmy Marcelino but Sam Slade is the real deal. Wait until the kid from Everett shows up next year. Wow what a group of hard running backs. I think they finally found a spot for Rivers. I was impressed with how hard and quick he hit the hole.

Holy Cross wandered too many years in the desert to give up FCS football now. I’d imagine even the blind are now seeing the connection between HC 5th year seniors and HC FCS national aspirations. And the peculiar reasoning (in some quarters) that HC 5th year seniors diminish HC’s academic reputation is now a punch line. Soooo, the PL should give up the ghost on the non-medical redshirts and give members that option once the Covid 5th-year kids are gone. Or we walk.

Absolutely! They and their contributions should be remembered! If today's athletes knew all these Crusaders had done they would, I believe, be pleased being compared to them.

Slade is credited with two rushes and eight yards. ------------------------------------------------ Bucknell has no fifth year seniors on the roster. Matter of school policy. In the present environment, that's a big impediment to success. ---------------------------------------------- An interesting tidbit from the Spectrum announcers. They were contacted by a radio show that broadcasts NDSU football, and interviewed about Holy Cross. The callers said they wanted to know more about HC, given the possibility of a post-season matchup. ----------------------------------------------- The Spectrum announcers seem to have info on the scouts from NFL teams that are visiting practice, The 49ers were mentioned, I believe in the context of Liam Anderson. Would any Crossports posters in-the-know care to elaborate? --------------------------------------------- When VR states a goal of being ranked the #1 liberal arts college in the country, as wildly aspirational as that may be, he likely does not see CAA membership as a way of boosting HC's ranking. The liberal arts colleges are set by the Carnegie Classification. Only the University of Richmond is classified as liberal arts; Bill and Mary, and Elon are not. Seven of the 10 members of the PL are classified as liberal arts. The three non liberal arts schools don't play football. (Fordham and Georgetown are also not classified as liberal arts.) -------------------------------------------- Has anyone seen Dobbs, post-injury, on the sidelines?

I think Bucknell will be hard pressed to find a coach willing to deal with the rebuild amid the school's policies. I am speaking for myself here, but while I am happy to be in the company of Fordham and Colgate for football and academics, I would rather be in the company of Villanova, Richmond, and Bill and Mary. Perhaps be in the company of Georgetown for hoops (now that's a dream!)

Expect the BOT & VR will continue the largely successful current academic policies within the framework of the PL.

Didn't realize Bucknell has won the league only once; in 1996. Not surprised GU hasn't given they're playing with one hand tied behind their back.
Unless under the tutelage of Nathan Davis, Bucknell has killed most of the interest in its basketball program, no way I see that school advocating any kind of changes to its athletic philosophy.
