I think GTown's lack of football interest stems from not having a D1 program from 1950-2000 or so....most of their alumni have no institutional memory of D1 college football. Georgetown went I-AA in 1993. Most of the alumni have no institutional memory of winning college football. Since 2001, Georgetown's record is 67-151 (.307), with one winning season (only Cornell has had as few in the Northeast). It hasn't won a home game in three years. There are no games on local TV or radio to reach people in DC who don't come on campus to follow the team. Where would HC be after ten consecutive losing seasons? At some point, people just stop caring. The thing is, good, bad or indifferent. HC has had a D1 program all these years...which has led to support (such as it is) all these years....GTown doesn;t have that, not having a D1 program for 50 or so years..

GU dropped a couple of passes destined to be interceptions today. But his 25-3 TD to Int. ratio is stunning.

Sluka's QB rating for the game: 314.6.. I wonder if that is highest ever for HC QB? In the record book I could not find a single game record for QB rating (passing efficiency?) but for a season the highest is Jeff Wiley’s 163.0. Sluka is at 180.71 season to date. This assumes we are using the same calculations as were used in prior seasons. Career highest is Dom Randolph at 143.1. I wonder also if Matt’s 25-3 ratio of TD passes to Ints is best ever?? I think Ciaccio’s career rating was 142.3, which placed him 10th all time in D1 as of his graduation.

You can't discount sixty scholarships vs zero scholarships. GU is attempting to drive on Rte. 20 which runs parallel to the Mass Pike and keep up with the schools who pay the toll to ride on the pike.

Georgetown wasn't winning before the 2013 scholarship change, either. One standard deviation from a 1485 SAT average doesn't open the door to a lot of impact players. Unless and until the PL adjusts its recruiting rules or provides Georgetown a conditional admissions waiver, nothing changes unless it stands up, gives its notice, and joins the NEC, which has no artificial admissions restrictions. And scholarships alone do not solve this issue. Georgetown with 60 scholarships and an AI is Bucknell.

I'd be in favor of the PL relieving all restrictions on GU and justify it by saying they don't have scholarships so they need an accommodation to balance that. If GU can use it's selectivity to accomplish what other members are doing with scholarships that is fine with me. GU and Fordham are terrific institutions to be associated with, even in just one major sport.

Plenty of other schools have gone ahead and enacted policies that benefit them without league approval. Nothing is stopping G'Town from doing this.

Congratulations on an undefeated season!
11-0 (More wins then men's hoops!)
Best HC team I have ever seen.

Sluka's QB rating for the game: 314.6.. I wonder if that is highest ever for HC QB? Definitely the highest ever. 131 points better than the highest NCAA rating ever (183.3)

Georgetown's AI is not materially different than Colgate's. GU's school-wide AI is probably 2-3 points higher than Colgate, and the one standard deviation, which is the controlling value, is probably pretty close for both.

I am guessing that you are citing the rating for a season or career

That’s an excellent point regarding Colgate nowadays and Georgetown relative to an AI. If Georgetown sprung for the full schollies (and hired the right folks) I have no doubt they would recruit very well. At least to Colgate’s level. Prestige and location. But the football $chollie outlay seems to be a no-go and thus they’re struggling in a schollie league. (And Georgetown certainly doesn’t give the level of need-based financial aid to address the delta.)

Something is amiss with these numbers. Maybe the 314 is on a different scale than what we’re all looking at for comparison?

Same is the scale for Kyler Murray's 348 with OU, which is the FBS single game record. What that scale is, who knows. Is there a difference between passer efficiency rating and QB rating?

Passer efficiency rating is computed thusly: [quote[pass-efficiency rating points, multiply a player's yards per attempt by 8.4, add his completion percentage, add his touchdown percentage multiplied by 3.3, then subtract his interception percentage multiplied by 2. It is recommended that you use a calculator for computations.[/quote] KYCrusader's value is correct using the formula for quarterback rating.

Clearly an error on my part to say QB Rating instead of Passer Efficiency as a QB’s rushing stats are not included. Imagine what Matt’s ratings would be if you included running stats
