Not sure this topic is one the coaches want us to have in an open forum. Keep 'em guessing.

Offensively and special teams we enter the playoffs with the ability to compete against the field. We have about 10 days to adjust the defense, and if we can do the basics, generate a significant pass rush, and offer tight coverage we can create some damage

If he can play he probably will play and give up his eligibility for a sixth college season under two tried and true principles. 1) "A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush." 2) Rodney Dangerfield in the movie Caddy Shack: "While we're young!"

The extra week should benefit the Crusaders, who were without six injured starters at Georgetown.
“Getting this bye is really big,” Chesney said. “To get those six starters back that we were missing this past weekend is really exciting. Hopefully we can get the full team back to full strength, manage this week properly and well, and then be ready to roll in two weeks.”

Jake hasn't been in a game in weeks - wouldn't it be better for him to just sit the rest of the year and come back next year. I don't know a lot about the players replacing the guys who will graduate but we will have Sluka, Coker, Shorter and Purdy back - with Jake back next year it seems to me we will be good again next year.

When I was in high school our starting hockey goalie went down in January with a hip injury, something he had battled before. We were not expected to have him back for the playoffs which would have put a lot of pressure on our defence. After a week of skating and a week of practice, word slowly got out that he was near return but our coach was mum on the issue. The program for our opening night game had him listed but an "*" indicating he was injured. He led the team onto the ice and was one of the reasons we made a deep tournament run. Imagine our opponents looking across the field and seeing someone unexpected playing!
I can understand the need for privacy to respect our student-athletes and for game planning. I also understand the need and the desire to speculate and hope. Here's hoping and praying our injured guys are ready to go on Dec. 3rd. Molton's injury looked pretty serious, so thinking of him today. Go Cross.

Although I think Dobbs return would be a huge plus for us, I don't see how knowledge of his return by our opponent would affect their game plan in any significant way.

Dobbs injury is reported as an elbow injury. That should not impede his conditioning when it comes to running; conditioning would be what you would be most worried about when it comes to a multi-week layoff. No one has reported seeing him on the sidelines with his arm in a sling. Dobbs is eligible to come back next year, as is Liam Doran, IIRC..
