Thanksgiving weekend is very tough on attendance. And no students on campus besides athletes and a handful of others.

Thanksgiving weekend is very tough on attendance. And no students on campus besides athletes and a handful of others. Kind of different for these huge state schools with mostly local students bodies. UNH should be embarrassed.

UNH should be embarrassed. Most students at UNH are from NH and most people in NH live in Southern NH so you are right, thousands live within an easy drive.

Don’t know if another poster mentioned it but the dog that fetched the tee after UNH kickoffs was pretty cool. And pretty busy.

Although our prognosticators generally split on UNH-Fordham, I guess it’s no surprise a good CAA team beat a second place PL team. Which makes me very concerned regarding next week. Fordham lost not sure UNH won LOL! Let's see at the end of the day the score board said CAA Co-Champion UNH 52- 2nd Place Patriot League Team Fordham 42. I believe that means that UNH won the game and now get the chance to come to Fitton Field to play the Patriot League Champion Holy Cross Crusaders.

It was Thanksgiving weekend and everyone is away on break and a lot of fans have traveled for the holiday so please tell me why UNH should be embarrassed?

That attendance number is wrong like they all are for FCS playoffs to pocket money. There was at least that on the home side alone. That number is off by at least 2k.

Congratulations unhfan you all played well today and i am sure you gained some confidence today. Both teams played short a player or two and UNH survived and won, in part to some mistakes made by the Fordham staff, but also by making plays. I never thought you stopped Fordham, but they did stop themselves and yhat cost them the game #20 is a beast and you are solid at the skill positions, defense took advantage of Fordham play calling Next week should be an interesting adventure but neither team should think this game is a walk in the park- UNH will need better execution offensively and Holy cross will need to avoid penalties Should be an exciting game Good luck and hope it is a great game

Looked like more than that on TV I'm figuring out the NCAA must have strict rules on how official attendance is calculated and reported for FCS tournament games. The effect is to report lower official totals than in the regular season. Which method is more accurate I dunno. Or the schools under report so the NCAA takes less gate?

The regular season incentive to add every car passing on Rte. 290 to the attendance total is replaced by the post season incentive to not count free student tickets, the boys and girls club, etc.

UNH should be embarrassed. UNH only has 42 percent of New Hampshire students. Nearly 32 percent of the student body is from Massachusetts.

The school has to pay for them. The first 300 students got in for free at UNH today. Did UNH have to pay UNH $9,000 (tickets started at $30)? I thought first round locations were decided by the highest bid and then the host school kept the ticket revenue to offset the cost of the bid paid to the NCAA. What's your understanding?

Yes, UNH has to pay for those tickets. UNH Athletics sponsored 300 FREE student tickets. unhtickets.universitytickets.com/w/event.aspx?id=1576In case the link goes bad, it read the following:

But who does the UNH Athletic Department buy the student tickets from, the UNH Athletic Department or the NCAA?

But who does the UNH Athletic Department buy the student tickets from, the UNH Athletic Department or the NCAA? I would assume they have to reimburse the NCAA the fee. They had student tickets outside of that for $5.00.

I would assume they have to reimburse the NCAA the fee. They had student tickets outside of that for $5.00. Plus pay the NCAA the bid they submitted to host the game? The bid is offset by the ticket sales. The bid is a guarantee to the NCAA and any profit made goes to the NCAA not the host school as it is supposed to be a neutral site game. Music is even controlled. This is from the soccer hosting manual (I can't find the football one) ncaaorg.s3.amazonaws.com/championships/sports/soccer/d1/men/2020-21D1MSO_HostOpsManual.pdf

The Grambling-Southern game at the Superdome outdrew all 8 FCS playoff games combined, at least on paper.

Jake can play in 2023 regardless...because of the Covid exemption. He can play because he will only be a Holy Cross senior in 2023 - he is a junior this year. The Covid exemption (if any) would be in 2024. Jacob Dobbs is a senior this year. He does have a Covid year in his pocket. As Tim notes. (Separate and apart from any considerations regarding medical issues and this year.)

The Grambling-Southern game at the Superdome outdrew all 8 FCS playoff games combined, at least on paper. It’s because Southern has the marching band from jaguar land! Aka the “Human Jukebox” Good for them but they have played it for 40 years in New Orleans. Give me Weber State over an all star team of Southern vs Grambling.

It's either the playoffs we're in or put the cleats away before Thanksgiving. The idea of playing the Ivy champion never got off the ground; fortunately, IMHO.
