IMO he's not taking shots b/c he's not open and doesn't want to force it.

Maybe that's why he's more often open now.

I think ND has done a pretty decent job so far. He works hard on D, can push the ball quickly when needed, sees the floor, and takes pretty good care of the ball (by far the best assist/turnover ratio). I wouldn't mind seeing him try to get to the rim more often, because he can shoot free throws.
The team desperately needs Louth back. He may not have great post moves or leaping ability, but he holds his ground defensively, stays out of foul trouble, and actually has some decent court awareness imo (makes some decent passes from time to time). Unfair to ask guys like GG and CK to guard guys like Keegan Records in the paint (see what Chris Doherty did Saturday). Just ultra frustrating not knowing what Louth's status is - if the announcing duo cannot ask and update us on the next broadcast, don't even bother coming on air - we can watch Charlie Chaplin style.

ND's game has evolved from last year-it seems to this non-expert. Building on Dave's excellent insights, we can see the changes in some stats. Last year ND was extremely reluctant to shoot, taking only 4.7 field goal attempts per 40 minutes, perhaps the lowest rate you'd ever see. The team average would be 11 or 12. This year he still isn't shooting often, 7.4 per 40 minutes but that is a meaningful jump from last year. As well, after taking no free throws in 14 consecutive games, he has gone to the line in 4 games this year and, as Dave notes, he has made them all. The assist to turnover ratio is excellent.
Edit: maybe "reluctant to shoot" isn't the proper term as it could be that he is not getting the ball often--let's just let the stats speak for themselves

See, in particular, KY's post here crossports.freeforums.net/thread/5061/bucknell-2-game-night?page=4I just looked at Reilly's stats at Sacred Heart. He averaged 9.5 shots per 40 min last year and is averaging 10.5 this year. Make of that what you will. I said then and will say now about ND, I don't know if his hesitation is of his own making or based upon the game plan somehow. I suppose shots per touch in the offensive end would be an interesting stat to have to further study this issue.

This is spot on. In D.1 if you don't have a big man who can at least "hold his ground defensively, stay out of foul trouble, and actually has some decent court awareness" you are toast, with very little chance of success.

I suppose shots per touch in the offensive end would be an interesting stat to have to further study this issue. "Usage Percentage" (Usg%) may help - it estimates team plays used by a player while he's on the floor. Scroll down to "Advanced." As with most of his metrics, Dorsey's Usg% has popped significantly from last year. (He's playing 50% more mpg, too.)
