When Rick asks for forgiveness for his misdeeds, I will gladly extend forgiveness. Did that happen and I just missed it? Does anyone going to Communion make what he did right? I don't think so. I also don't think the order in which one receives Communion confers more or less grace...but that does not fit with what seems to be an attempt to whitewash the reputation of Coach Pitino. So. . . you're saying there's no benefit in me knocking down little old ladies to get to the front of the line? Well, you may get to leave a bit earlier (than the little old lady) but, other than that, no.

If there's no benefit, perhaps I can give up knocking over little old ladies for half of lent

Regarding Georgetown, FWIW, a relative and Georgetown grad told me that Georgetown has their new coach lined up. I didn't read this entire meandering thread but the name wasn't one I saw here. I was surprised because the school he's with would be capable of a more than competitive retention offer.

Not Micah Schrewsbury (sp) ? I'm thinking he's the frontrunner and who HCNJ was referring to...he was mentioned earlier in the thread, but just briefly.

Georgetown would offer the opportunity of a lifetime. Providence? Not so much. Do not understand the reason for any Providence fans to be angry at Coach Cooley for leaving the program? The school does not own him for life. Days of serfdom are long gone. They should be grateful for his contributions to the school and wish him a heartfelt good luck & good bye. Now, about HC... Who is it gonna' be?

The in-conference switch is what has them mad.

Actually, I was comparing endowment growth among PL schools, several Jesuit institutions, etc in 2022 to see how HC did comparatively., and Georgetown's nearly 33 percent growth was simply jaw-dropping. Like if GU basketball had an undefeated season and the average margin of victory was 60 points. It took a bit of digging in the financial notes to uncover this sleight of hand. The year over year increase was 23.84%, which more than covered a 7% drop in the overall fund performance. Timing-wise, this was a great move, helping to jump-start a somewhat static endowment figure at the onset of a capital campaign. It moved Georgetown from 57th to 42nd in the national endowment rankings, and within $126 million of Boston College, a school which got into this game way before the other Jesuit schools. Reflective of the overall downturn, Holy Cross finished slightly under $1 billion at $992.6 million in the study. www.nacubo.org/Research/2022/Public-NTSE-Tables

How would we here have felt if RW left for the head job at GTown ? Recall our reactions to his departure to Louisville To me the PC fan response if he leaves is totally understandable

I wouldn't go that far. Georgetown is a Big East head job. Ralph left to be an assistant (or, at best, an interim head while Ricky was busy lawyering up).
