The word is out that a new O Line coach has been hired to replace Chris Smith just in time for Spring practices. Chris Zarkoskie comes into the program from Princeton. Heard very good things about him. Princeton has a top flight program as well as a top flight offense. Look like a great addition to the staff.

This is great news. Looks like he played 4 at UNH - Guard and Center - so knows the CAA well. Coached at Lehigh for a year - so knows the PL and has had great success at Princeton - the best team in the Ivy League. And he's younger to relate to the players great.
He's stepping into a top 5 FCS line in the country. Awesome to see! Plus the players can razz him about how HC stomped UNH last year.
Great hire. Now let's get him recruiting!! Thanks 44!

Expanding on dharry's post. here is the copy from the Princeton website
Chris Zarkoskie, a 2013 New Hampshire graduate, is in his second year on the Princeton staff.
The 2021 season saw Princeton go 9-1 and earn an Ivy League title, its third in five seasons. The Tigers had 16 All-Ivy selections including 10 first-team honorees, a program record. The offense ranked first in the Ivy League in scoring (33.4), second in passing offense (265.5), second in passing efficiency (147.0) and third in total offense (392.4).
He has previous Ivy League coaching experience after spending the 2018 season at Brown, and he most recently was the offensive line coach at Lehigh for the 2019 season. Zarkoskie spent three years coaching tight ends at his alma mater before his year at Brown, where he coached the offensive line. As a player Zarkoskie was a strong student-athlete, with major honors in both. He was a three-year starter, as well as an All-CAA selection and team captain as a senior. He also won the league's first Chuck Boone Awards for "embodying the highest standards of leadership, integrity, teamwork and sportsmanship in his academic and athletic achievements." A psychology major, he was both a two-time CoSIDA Academic All-District selection and a two-time member of the FCS ADA Academic All-Star Team as a player, and he earned CAA Academic All-Conference Team honors and received the CAA Commissioner's Academic Award three straight years (2010-12).

So can we conclude from this move that salaries for HC assistants in football are now on par with those of the IL?

So can we conclude from this move that salaries for HC assistants in football are now on par with those of the IL? Probably not. Princeton football expenses in 2021-22 were $3,627,000. Operating expenses were $575,000. No financial aid $. the remainder is coaches compensation and recruiting. Harvard and Dartmouth similar to Princeton. Yale spent $8+ million; must reflect $ for Yale Bowl. Ivies spend $$$$ on recruiting. HC spent $7,147,000, of which $1,306,000 was operating expenses. 96 participants. Harvard rostered 136 participants. Suspect HC is only reporting merit aid, not need-based aid. Playing Title IX games.

After further thought -- and remembering that PSU's NCAA revenue and expense report included an entry for bonus payments to coaches because PSU played in a bowl -- it may be that HC's extraordinary operating expense for 2021-22 includes performance incentives for 1.) winning the PL, 2.) advancing to play Villanova. HC's operating expenses total was about twice that of Villanova's. These bonus payments may be included in the operating expenses category, rather than coaches' compensation category. And if so, and IIRC, HC's payout to the coaches was higher than what PSU coaches received for the team's bowl appearance.
