One thing I am hoping for from Coach Paulsen is better retention. From the presser, it sounds like a four year culture is part of the plan. Thinking about the revolving door HC has had lately, made me think of an easy one. . .
Name the last five players to play 100 or more games for Holy Cross

Benzan, Zignorski, Floyd all more recent than a few guys mentioned, I think.

I thought of those guys too, SoV, but am wondering if they got into enough games as freshmen to push them over the top.....Champion too.

Speaking of Matt Zignorski ("It's not about the next four years, it's about the next forty years"), just happened to glance at his LinkedIn page. Analyst at PanAgora Asset Management.
Still volunteering at St. John's Soup Kitchen and "Working for Worcester."
Gets it.

I put this one in a thread but no one ventured to answer it.
What surprised me about this is I didn't know about this person until years after the HC person played; and neither was a bit player.
Here goes: name a relative of a former HC player that played for Kansas State (same last name)?

Butler, Faw, Benzan, Floyd, and Zignorski are the five
Kind of sad that we have to go back to Coach Brown recruits for 40 percent of the answer. Next person on track to play that arbitrary number is Kenney. Once again, I hope the revolving door ends with Coach Paulsen

I bumped into Matt somewhere maybe his sophomore year and introduced myself. After that short exchange, everytime he saw me, he would come up to me and say "hello". Real nice kid. Also the first person I heard use the forty year line

I hope the revolving door ends Coach Paulsen Isn't that a bit rough on Coach Paulsen? Now if it ends with CDP I would certainly support that.

Thr type of "retention" Worcester benefits from but doesn't often give Holy Cross or the other colleges credit for.

I swear when HC played KState in the 70s there was absolutely no mention of this. 100% sure this man was Mike's uncle. www.olympedia.org/athletes/7298Had to be one of the first college basketball players not from the continental US.

HC played Kansas State in the Vanderbilt tournament in December 1975. They were ranked in the Top-20, and the game was a rock fight with KSU prevailing by 4 or 5. I believe Kevin McAuley held their guard Chuckie Williams to about 47. I think we played Vandy the next night and lost that game by a larger margin.

Was that the Vandy game that Roger Breslin tossed on in from the opposite free throw line? That was an ESPN highlight of the night, or something like that!

I think he wound up at Kansas St Steve Carver did indeed wind up at K-State and seems to be doing pretty well for himself with his own company. That's a name I haven't heard in a while. IIRC, he was a member of SK's only recruiting class. Everyone in that class transferred out after freshman year except for Dudzinski IIRC. I didn't realize he went to Kansas State. Did he play ball there, on scholarship?

Since we didn't have a viral thread following his career for 4 years on the old board, I figured he either transferred somewhere sub-DI out there or didn't continue playing college sports. We should put together an all-purple basketball tournament -- Holy Cross, Kansas State, Northwestern, Furman, TCU, LSU, Washington and East Carolina.

We need some more Vicens descendants in the HC hoop program...
