Dave Paulsen’s Twitter page has a post from 2 days ago about the team being back on campus. I don’t see any new faces in the picture. Are incoming frosh allowed to take summer classes?

Looks as if Rabs is still not ready to play.

I know we think these kids' lives should revolve around HC hoops, but are all the high school kids out for the summer? I know prep schools end earlier than public high schools, but some might still be in school

I was unsure whether he was in the photo or not I think Louth is next to Bo in the photo. I think he had a practice jersey on. I found the photo of the 5 frosh under one of the social media links at the men’s basketball site. I don’t see it on CDP’s Twitter page.

He looks like he’s been in the weight room
When do they get their elongator treatments?

Declan Ryan should shave his head then he'd be looking like a young slimcharles "slim" is definitely the operative word, as in slimming the young man down; or should I say "re-shape" !

Ryan had a pretty impressive sr year of hs and yet had no D1 offers. Kind of mysterious, no? Buffalo News POY, NY State Class A POY.

As I posted previously, I saw one of his playoff games with Canisius High.and thought at 6’6”-7” he possessed the skills to eventually help a low major at the 5. (My guess is that he went to Prep school to play D1.) Though skilled, at 6’7” with average athleticism, it seemed as if he would have positional trouble: not big enough to defend many 5s, not quick enough to cover 4s. Now he looks about 6’8”, (a classic late blooming Irishman) I believe,.and seems that he could play back up minutes to Louth or Rabs. Of course, the proviso is that he turns some of the extra weight into muscle. From the photos referenced above, he seems to have begun that process. This summer and early fall will be decisive.

while there's been a lot of talk on ryan's physical transition, i have to remark that nugent already has incredible development for an incoming freshman.
no "popcorn muscles", either, as he has broad shoulders and looks strong in his lower body. you're dealt the frame you're dealt for the most part, but he has clearly put some time in to develop what appears to have been a great basketball frame.
he could be a powerful force getting to the hole, especially combined with the threat of a nice perimeter stroke and what appears to be quickness and leaping ability from what we've seen online.
there's a great deal that goes into transitioning to d1 ball of course, but nugent seems as if he will have little issues from a physical perspective. look forward to seeing him play.

I've seen Nugent play in person. He rebounds very well. Great leaping ability and will overpower smaller guards around the basket. I didn't love his outside stroke. I didn't hate it, but I don't think he's going to be that knock down perimeter player. I see him getting points in the paint and in transition and knocking down the 3 on occasion. He can play.
And on Singleton - Coach DP thought he was the best player on the court when they scrimmaged in the Spring when he was on campus.

I wonder if Nugent will see time at the 4 spot.

I thought he was more like 6'4.5/6'5 rather than 6'6. Maybe he's a legit 6'6. I saw him as a big guard small forward vs a 4.

For what it's worth, Coach Paulsen made an off hand comment when hired that practices would be open. We'll see how that plays out as time goes on, however, if someone knew the practice times and had some free time hanging around Worcester, one could take a peek inside Hart to see what was going on.
If things aren't open, NAD still has that maintenance man disguise

I think the only 4 we have on the roster is Kenney. I think in todays game, the "positions" are a bit cloudy..or smokey... Well, the more common term is bigs. In that category, we have 3 players who fill the 5 spot: Louth, Rabs, Declan R. Neither Louth nor Rabs seems to fit the 4 position at either end. Declan maybe could play it on offense, but not defense. The non center big is Caleb. (4) Last season Joe O. played that position a lot. He may again have to play it some this year, though he is listed on the roster only as a guard. Joe N is listed as a guard-forward. The rest of the roster seems to be wings(2s and 3s) and points.(1s) 8 scholarship players are listed as guards, the 3 bigs above as forwards and Joe N. is the only guard-forward.
