A good and realistic OOC for our guys (no trips out west).
vs. LIU home and home with UConn vs. Brown home and home with Lowell at Quinnipiac vs. Merrimack
Interesting that HC hasn't released the schedule (maybe the OOC isn't final yet?).

Almost all OOC games against teams from higher rated conferences. Kind of hard not to be but still a good way to improve. The oft panned Hart rink isn't preventing home games against stronger foes with better attended home facilities. Congratulations to Coach Riga. When HC hired him we got a respected veteran coach from the region which helps in many subtle ways.
FADMB learned lessons as he progressed through his three major hires. The last two, Magarity and Riga had both coached in New England for the last 10 and 13 years. Marcus had worked in Athletic Administration in the region over that time period. He trusted his contacts and knowledge of the region while making his last two hires and they didn't let him down. Like the title of HC alum Edward P. Jones' Pulitzer Prize winning novel, he stayed within his and Holy Cross' "Known World" and it paid off.

Coach Paulsen from Bucknell and Williams is from HC's "Known World" also as was HC alum Ralph Willard and Assumption Coach Bob Chesney.
Not a perfect recipe for success, but a factor.

Almost all OOC games against teams from higher rated conferences. When you're in the lowest rated conference, that'll happen.

I'm not quibbling with your point, but just wanted to point out there is irony in the title of Jones' "The Known World" (one of the most brilliant books I've ever read). In one meaning the title refers to how people live only according to the parameters of their "known world", which is often a narrow and distorted reality. For someone who lived in a world where slavery was accepted this was their reality, but people who refuse to expand their horizon beyond their "known world" do so to their detriment and the detriment of others. This is not a comment on HC recruiting.

This is not a comment on HC recruiting. Your comment is universal. My father grew up in an Irish enclave and always chose potatoes over pasta or rice because that was what he knew. He missed out on some tasty dishes. His friend who grew up in an Italian enclave wouldn't eat pasta because he said he ate it every day of his life growing up and had enough to last a lifetime. So when the families got together and the mothers served spaghetti and meatballs, the fathers had to have steak or chicken. Maybe they weren't so backward after all.🙂 Regarding HC recruiting, I'm suggesting that FADMB, who made excellent choices in his last two out of three major hires, might have learned to place more emphasis on Holy Cross being part of the known and comfortable world of new hires after realizing that being an assistant at a far away power conference school may not be closely relatable to Holy Cross.

Holy Cross pop-up store for team issue hockey apparel is live now. holycross-hockey.itemorder.com/shop/home/I have ordered from them before and it takes a while to ship. Do they do this for all sports now? I imagine football would gain interest.
