Holy Cross, under Chesney, currently holds the second longest all-time winning streak against PL opponents at 17. HC's last loss in the PL was November 19, 2019, against Lafayette.
I was curious if any of those Lehigh teams under Kevin Higgins and Pete Lembo had winning streaks longer than 17, and the answer is no. However, Lehigh, under Andy Coen, won 18 straight spanning the 2009 to 2012 seasons. Top five longest in-conference winning streaks in PL history --
18 - Lehigh, Nov. 2009 - Nov. 2012
17 - Holy Cross, Nov. 2019 - present
16 - Lehigh, Nov. 1999 - Oct. 2022
15 - Colgate, Oct. 2002 - Oct. 2004
12 - Holy Cross, Oct. 1990 - Nov. 1992
Hopefully, on October 7 of this season, we'll have won 19 in a row.

Hmm. This newfangled gerrymandered Colonial Football League, now Patriot League has some history worthy of research. Many current "Jack built" leagues don't yet.

I'll go one further, should never have lost the previous PL loss. That was in 2018 to a Bucknell team that only won one game that year, which was against us. Looking forward to breaking Lehigh's record this year. I remember going to my son's first game freshman year at Colgate in 2018 to kick off the season. We were down 24-0 at halftime against a team that made it to the National Quarterfinals. I'm thinking how can we get to where Colgate is, how do we get to the top of the PL, brand new coaching staff, did we make the right decision to come to Holy Cross? It's safe to say, we made a great decision. BTW, we made it a game with 17 unanswered points in the second half.

Bucknell was a terrible loss, and I tried my darnedest to listen to the Colgate game on the radio - not a lot of success, but just enough to get excited when we got close. Congrats and thank-you to you and your son for being a part of these special teams.

If you count the Colonial League years before the name change and expansion to all sports, we won 19 straight from 1988-1992.

12 in the 80s/90s should be 18; 3 in '88; 4 in '89; 5 in '90 and '91; followed by one win in '92 (the only win in the streak not under Mark Duffner).
Davidson was in the league in 87 and 88, but HC didn't play them. Fordham joined in 90.
Please offer a correction if I'm wrong about this.

Yes, 5 in each of those years. And, I believe HC92 is correct- wins against Lehigh (a good team and kind of an upset) and Bucknell before falling to Lafayette. Managed to win the last 2 and go 5-1 in the league. So, 19, which would be the mark this year's squad is aiming to break.

Since we continue to widen the talent gap relative to the rest of the PL (IMHO) we will again be the favorite in every PL game. Looking forward to extending our PL unbeaten streak and beating each team by 3+ touchdowns.
I’m predicting we sweep the first place votes in the PL PreSeason poll in late July. (Last year Fordham picked up 2 and Colgate 1).

I’m liking the fact ,unless there are any 6 year PL players, every PL football player taking the field in 2023 has only played against one team that can call themselves PL Champions.

But if we make a playoff run again, we'll definitely be running into some 6th years who got both redshirt AND COVID years. The Janke twins on South Dakota State are amongst this group. William & Mary has a bunch as well.
