We have two Sep home games, 2nd and 23rd - I hope we start these games later than usual as we did last season Do we all agree later kickoff times between 2 and 3pm would help people get to campus after early morning commitments ? (assuming the Harvard game at Polar Park will start late afternoon as in the past)

...with the longer games we often see (due to more scoring and more/longer breaks in the action); 3 would be ok for Sept 2 but Sept 23 would have to be 2.
I'm in favor. Also, noon or 1 on Sept 2 has a chance to be hottern' hell.

In the past handful of seasons, Homecoming kickoffs (this year 9/23 vs. Colgate) have been a mix of 1:00, 1:30, and 2:00.

Later kick-offs should be a little less of an issue with the new clock rules for College Football in 2023. No more stopping the clock after first downs, except for 2 minutes left in the 2nd and 4th quarter.

The clock change may shorten the game by a couple of minutes, not much more. It only applies to first downs in bounds. And most referees were already in "stop and go" mode.

With the current FB program serving as a magnet, a later start gives the rest of the HC community opportunities to schedule affinity activities before the game on the five Saturdays HC plays in Worcester with potentially greater participation than if HC was a perrenial 4-7/5-6/6-5 team.
If HC is smart, the campus will be humming before and after games on home Saturdays. Everyone should hitch their wagon to this team. It's like a loss leader, except they almost never lose.
New Yorkers get a mini home season this year, half the number of games as at Fitton. With Fordham and Army the eighth and tenth games, can you imagine if they are both good at that point and HC barrels into the Empire State riding a freight car of a season itself?

Love the 2:00PM kickoffs. Just wait for a good thunderstorm to ruin it...just a matter of time for one to roll through at 4pm

Foley is right, the weather is just too fickle; we're overdue for another tornado. Cancel the entire season to be on the safe side.

I think I speak for all Crossporters and Holy Cross fans thanking you for your concern, Foley, for the safety and valuable time of all those attending games at Fitton . . . . and Polar Park too.

The worst that could happen would be like buying a tube of Certs, which is both a candy and a breath mint. We would start the game on Saturday and then get to watch the finish on Sunday.
