Don't think it will be, but be nice if this was streamed on ESPN+...believe that other conferences have done this. No streaming. The PL doesn't even rent the Green Valley CC anymore for the coaches luncheon and press availability. The Telegram appears to the the last media outlet with a regular PL reporter. Paul Reinhard (Allentown Morning Call) died in 2021, Brad Wilson (Easton Express-Times) covers the high school beat. Local papers covering Bucknell and Colgate rely on wire stories, Fordham and Georgetown have no regular coverage. The Media Day is almost here, and there's nothing in the league web site or on its social media channels. If PL football went away, would the league even care?

One might ask - Would anybody care as long as the schools had a good landing spot?

Chances of another FCS team snaring two FBS pelts this season? Slim. A Fitton frank for the schedulers. HC can't single handedly up the PL competitive level but is doing everything else it can to compete in the post season.

So I hate feeding the beast but since we all have our noses on the glass waiting for camp to start, here are a couple takes from many conversations I’ve had. I have ~90% conviction in these opinions.
1) The Patriot League will exist for Olympic sports for the foreseeable future. This is a statement of fact. There is little to no chance HC ever leaves the PL for Olympic sports.
2) As long as PL football exists in its current form, HC will remain.
3) However, the sport with the most disruption/realignment with affiliate member conferences across all D1 sports is Football. If the PL were to lose either of our 2 football affiliates (Fordham and G’Town) we are one team away from relegation and ineligibly for the playoffs. Fordham has made their intent clear that they will move to 63 scholarships. The league appears open to entertain their policy on non-medical redshirts come 2025 when Covid eligibility rolls off. Reliable secondary sources have shared that the 4 most northern CAA football only affiliates (Maine, UNH, URI, & Albany) are not happy with the Southern expansion of the conference. Everything from increased travel budgets to less regional rivalries to sustain fan interest. Throw in Bryant with the now very strange Big South-OVC football merger (solely to maintain playoff eligibility as a 6 team conference is the minimum) and you have 5 schools that are at least staying open minded about the future of their football programs.
IF, and I stress IF something changes with the intentions of Fordham and/or G’Town, that is the ONLY way you could see a more serious conversation start about some sort of 21st century Yankee football conference. The five programs above plus who knows where UMASS is by that point would definitely be in conversations with HC, Fordham and likely Colgate as to any mutual interest. This would however leave our PA brethren Lehigh, Lafayette and to a lesser extent Bucknell in a tough place (side note I care much more about Lehigh and Laffy than I do the Bison)
So to sum up, there is NO chance HC would leave the PL for any sport but football. PL football would basically have to implode. This would not be a binary all or nothing all-sport decision. However, given the disruption among both FBS and FCS and the way dominoes can fall so quickly, we need to at least keep an open mind and think progressively about the future of our football program in every way.

And, given the history of HC football, hope Coach Chesney stays at HC till he reaches social security age.

Your remark about noses on the glass gave me an idea. For future years why not have the reigning league champ host the pre-season press conference? That way you go where the interest is, where noses are pressed against the glass in anticipation of the season. If the conference was held in Worcester this year, the New England Football Journal, the T&G, the Worcester Spectrum TV station and perhaps some of the Boston media would be there. All of those outlets are accessible on the internet for the other school's athletic websites to provide links to, so the priority would seem to be to go where the most media will attend, not the geographic convenience of league staffers.

All Olympic sports compete in the conference where hoops is competed. If the conference does not offer conference competition in a particular Olympic sport, the school is allowed to compete that sport as a member of another conference. I believe all East Coast hockey is competed in leagues which are independent of any conference, e.g., Hockey East, ECAC, Atlantic Hockey.
As long as Army and Navy remain as members of the PL, the number of sports competed by the league is fairly solid. Without Army and Navy, there would be no PL baseball.

Will HC receive pre season offensive and defensive PL Players of the Year ? Deserved Yup- Sluka and Dobbs Beyond seeing Sluka and Dobbs and a raft of other honors, I'd like to see us as the unanimous choice for first place. We haven't done that during this streak and I think it is pretty rare. By unanimous I mean all of the first place votes - I think there are 14 of them and last year we got 11...with 2 going to Fordham and 1 going to Colgate (?).

No. But I think the point was that all the other schools vote unanimously for the Crusaders.

No. But I think the point was that all the other schools vote unanimously for the Crusaders. 12 (in that case) will satisfy me. Last year and the year before we got 11. ["Voting for the Preseason All-Patriot League Football Team, the offensive and defensive player of the year, and preseason poll was completed by Patriot League football head coaches and sports information directors from the seven League schools. They cannot vote for their team or student-athletes."]

9 returning from 1st or 2nd team in 2022: Sluka, Coker, Morris, Newman, CJ, Schon, Haskins, Shorter (RS), Punter Pat. Add back Dobbs and Maybe McMurtrie who was 2nd team in 2021.
