He is not TT But he is very good and a version of TT would be perfect for us to be a better basketball team

I think TT and Glen Williams are two of the best PGs we have had after the mid 80s

I think he’s a more polished offensive player than TT. That would be great. TT was above average in clutch situations. Other than a propensity to drive and then if he didn't have the step throwing the ball in the general area of the basket during his early years, he was good shooting and better in the clutch IMO.

Since Glenn Williams has been mentioned in this thread, here is a game link that he played for HC on 12-22-1988 vs Providence College in a packed to the rafters Hart Center. Going into this game, both teams were undefeated. Playing for PC was Togo’s son.

Rest of the season was pretty disappointing, 5-9 in conference play and a first round MAAC tournament exit.

It's going to be very interesting to see how CDP uses guys like Boston, Wills, Williams, and Singleton down the road. Probably safe to say that Batch will not need to bring the ball up court any more.
Welcome Tyler!

Needless to say this season we will play a short lineup to get the best players maximum minutes., Next season, Boston will probably be the main point. And depending on a new big or two, probably short again, but far more skilled and athletic than recent teams.

IIRC, Scooter Tropf suffered with back issues most of his senior year and did not live up to the promise of his junior year. I think that was a major factor in the disappointing 2nd half of the season I was stunned to be reminded that Eldridge Carter was a starter for Holy Cross. On the other hand, Dwight Pernell from that video is a name that doesn't come up enough when discussing the great Crusaders

As long as we're hypothesizing, if Wills is the primary PG this year (my supposition), why are you already thinking Boston would supplant him? This year and more so next, there should be a lot of combinations depending on need for a scoring backcourt vs a ball handling combo. I also wonder if that might even effect 3 guard lineups at times despite our lack of any serious height. No knock on our returning SF's or Nugent.

Based on little info and efg’s post above, I think that Boston is more of a pure point than AJ. I agree that we will probably see many 3 guard lineups in these next two season. Nugent may have to play some 4.

Carter, Evans, Viviano (father of the Harvard qb of the same name), Martucci were the others.

Not worried about next year's team until next year, who knows if everyone from this year who's still eligible will be on it. I'm happy that DP's philosophy is not in line with the transfer portal, just hope he succeeds in that regard.

Nugent may have to play some 4. And I think the same thing about Nugent. I'm less convinced about Wills vs Boston. Especially if Batchelder has a good soph season. If EFG's hinting Wills as a two, that leaves too many good potential players chasing too few available minutes. And Wills will have a leg up if he has a good freshman season. We've got to get a competitive big or we'll never compete beyond a mediocre pl.

I think Nugent is going to be a stud THIS SEASON… He has the size and motor to be a top player in the league. Only time will tell, but I’m anxious to see this team get going. Caleb has developed a jumper, Rabs and Luth are going to stay healthy, Batch and Joe O.will be scorers along with Bo.. Plus the rest of a very good freshman class, if 2 per game can have a positive impact, we just might have the start of a solid program!

Nugent might be much better than we thought and from what some say is a very good student of the game Potentially a much better than average PL player
We all know potential can be a burden, but in his case we might be very happy

Nugent as a 3 or is he already playing at the 4? And do you know his actual height?

Hear his 6’6 info is correct and can play 2-3-4 but not sure about defensively

Nugent as a 3 or is he already playing at the 4? And do you know his actual height? When I saw practice earlier this summer, he was about the same height as C K… but a much more rugged physique. Aggressive, he goes after the ball hard….and gets off the floor very well with a quick jumping ability.
