Anyone else going? A great opportunity to meet with current seniors and get to know some current students. Past experience is that very few "revenue sports" seniors are in attendance and mostly "regular" students. Two lucky students will get my free drink tickets since I can't drink anymore.

The event previously was held in the spring. Glad to see it has been moved to a fall event. Better opportunity for the seniors to network regarding advice for employment.
We are all better off for giving up the “demon rum”. 😀

My memory is no longer what it once was but: 1. I believe you are correct on the timing. From my defective memory, it was closer to the end of senior year, presumably so it would be fresher in their memories as they inched toward graduation and towards the "real world." In the past, I was surprised at how many were going to grad school or already knew exactly where they were going to work and what they'd be doing. I presumed a result of the much greater use of internships. I, on the other hand, hadn't a clue what I would do after graduation. 2. Not "demon rum, nor " "demon wine" or "demon beer." All in the rear view mirror (thank you diabetes! ) 3. Since you didn't say so, I am assuming you and I aren't going to see each other tonight.

I apparently missed the invitation. I have attended the event in the past, and we would have several people from our area also attend the event.
It was in late April in the past. It was held as an event to remind the seniors to become active in the Alumni Association with their regional clubs. If seniors were planning to move to a city that had an alumnus present at the reception, it served as a networking opportunity.

My wife and I met at the first "mixer" of my jumior year. In thise days it was also referred to as a "cattle call". My wife remembers seeing girls getting off a bus at the field house while HC guys stood around and commented. If the girl was not "up to their standards" they would loudly say "MOO." She enjoys telling coeds at our reunions about the (not always) good old days.
