1-0 good guys.
We capitalized on a UConn turnover in their zone.

1-0 with 9:57 left.
We are heading on a power play.
Brilliant game plan by Riga. Have really stifled UConn. We are happy playing in the mud.

1-0 with 1:48 left.
Timeout UConn.
UConn pulls their goalie coming out of their timeout for the extra attacked.

Grande gives up one goal in 120 minutes against the #20 team. Wow.

Nice win!
3-0.
HC should be getting more then 4 votes this week.
Just sad the next bunch of games are on Flo hockey. Anybody subscribe to that? Is it worth it?

Huge game for Grande. Tons of blocked shots by HC and a great defensive structure. Should be cracking the polls I'd think. UConn will drop out. Watch out Atlantic Hockey

Outstanding weekend for the team. They play with poise and a commitment to back checking and defense.

Nice weekend, UConn was our top rival when I played, so thrilled that the boys earned the sweep.

The new UConn Toscano Family hockey arena (located on Jim Calhoun Way) cost $70 million and only increased capacity from 2000 at the 25 year old on campus Freitas Arena to 2691.
Congratulations to Coach Riga and the Crusaders for starting this season like they finished last season. It's exciting. The Hart Arena is older than the arena UConn replaced and we just swept the Huskies. I love it.

Any talk of hockey conference realignment? Seems to me like HC fits more in the ECAC than it does in the Atlantic.

Can you provide more detail? Sorry for pouring salt in a wound. I’m genuinely interested in hearing the history.

Not Father McF's most shining moment, to be charitable; when there was a possibility of such a switch occurring. Enough said about that. Only tangential to the subject at hand but since you mentioned Fr. McF, I believe the very first time I met him was in the Hart Center while he was watching an HC hockey game (virtually no one there at the time and don't recall who we were playing). He was sitting all alone so the wife says, "go say hello." One of my best buddies/Classmates went to high school with him and were classmates. My pal told me "Mike" was a "certifiable genius who graduated from Cornell in 3 years." So, the good father and I start a chat with our discussion about our mutual friend/classmate (his in high school, mine at HC). Making polite conversation, I ask him if he is a big fan of hockey. His response is "My favorite sport is running but hockey is my favorite team, sport." Obviously, that did not translate into changing HC's conference affiliation. As I've posted multiple times in the past, coming most immediately from Gonzaga, he disdained their basketball emphasis and told me "we're never going to become a Gonzaga." (Obviously, as long as he was in charge). He also had little use for Georgetown. But, then again, he was an Ivy Leaguer. IMHO, when it came to sports, Fr. McF didn't take a back seat to Fr. Brooks re: moving from the PL.

Coach Cavanaugh does a decent job in a situation no one enjoys being in. Coaches Berard and Nelson rarely offered this for the fans. Chesney is good after a rare loss and I anticipate DP will be insightful after losses, too. With most colleges having video departments and distribution being free, coaches should realize this is now part of the job and embrace it win or lose.

Great RPI as well! Let's frame that. I would be surprised if we didn't get ranked this week somewhere in the 18-20 range.

Dating back to last season, we’ve won three straight vs. Hockey East opponents.
Has to be a program record.

A very classy guy, IMO. He seems to nail the comparison of in baseball, hitters hitting line drives that happen to go right to a player. At some point, those shots get through.
Don't recall Berard but Nelson was definitely MIA after losses. Maybe just shy?

We’re good at football. We’re good at women’s hoops. We’re getting good at men’s hockey. If Paulsen can do what we expect him to do, we’ll be in business. When’s the last time all 4 of those programs were good at the same time? Good in Women's Basketball?? When you are down 23-4 after a quarter of play in the NCAA Tournament. I would consider that uncompetitive. The game I saw them play last year they lost to the America East champ by 30 points...
