The force behind all that ails the HC ATHLETIC problems will be on WGBH at 4 PM for a "behind the scenes" look at the Crusader admissions process. Maybe we will learn why all those Rhodes Scholars eschew the Hill of Pleasant Springs.

Are they flocking to Rose Hill instead?

Flocking would be too strong. Ambling, strolling, tripping the Bronx fantastic, seem to be more accurate gerunds.

From a quick look, it appears that Fordham had two Rhodes Scholars with one each in '61 and '62.
Holy Cross has had 5 in '66, '67,'69,'87 and '93.
The last couple of years it appears that Harvard has almost a monopoly of Rhodes winners with the occasional USMA and USNA thrown in.
While it appears Holy Cross may be "losing it," it would appear Fordham has "lost it" since no winners in over 40 years,

Sure. But how did you know my name?
Maybe just me but thought this was a gratuitous comment, especially when you are a guest in our house. I just wanted to set the record straight. In the spirit of St. Francis and Pope Francis, I ask your forgiveness. I should have turned the other cheek.

Reference was to a line from "Stripes". Having worked at HC for longer than you attended I think I've earned the right to opine. I am bemused by those who assume Ann is the problem. She isn't. She is a pro and an asset to the College's senior leadership. For the record, HC is a fine school but I find many grads to be preposterously impressed with themselves. I kid because I love. Relax you have a great new Field House coming on line, a serious basketball coach, a bigger endowment and games with Cuse and BC to look forward to. Peace. and happy new year.

Sarasota, perhaps rather than looking down the organizational pyramid, you should look up. Ann's boss is a Fordham grad. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Sota: I didn't work for or with Ann. I was in a different department and observed her work and her dedication to her Alma Mater. I am also not Frank V! I will now return to the Fordham Board and join the fellowship of the miserable as we bemoan our facilities, castigate our coaches, but luxuriate in the memory of last November at YS. HC is our Homecoming opponent next November, I demand a trip north from you. You can display your devotion to both schools by ceremoniously crossing from the Holy Cross side to the Fordham side at halftime....wait what!

While we have you here, what are the chances you can give up the A-10 dream and return to the Patriot League? Fordham and William & Mary would make an excellent #11 and #12. In all seriousness, hope you keep posting here. The board has been woefully short of levity of late.
