Coach Chesney is a remarkable coach, leader, and representative for Holy Cross.

This interview underscores how much money it takes to build and sustain a successful football program. Chesney is definitely grateful for all the support he gets but touched on the need for even more money. I thought he mentioned a "GPS" for the practice field; not sure what he meant. He also said something like "we have a lot of freshmen and you don't want to rely on them too much, but that's where we are."

Rumors out there that each coach has a minimum fundraising amount for the CAF.
As we put together giving opportunities, including an NIL for players and financial support for the expansion of 90 wide, it is important to remember the needs are many, and the giving expectations from the community will need to increase if we are to meet the needs- the other options, and most are unacceptable include:
Accept an additional 125-200 students each year Reduce faculty headcount and salaries Reduce the number of varsity offerings Direct a % of the unrestricted dollars from estate giving to the athletic department Increase the cost of room and board
I am sure there are multiple other options available, but we need to be strategic, nimble, and adapt to meet the challenges ahead. Give where you can, and every former player should give at some level. We must protect the success the coaches and players have delivered, and use all of the tools available to build a sustainable future.

Ultimately all about execution.
Goals are well defined and all eminently attainable.
Participation goals in and of themselves represent a meaningful way of moving the needle. Need to bring some of our ‘wayward’ sheep (Crusaders) back into the fold. File this under ‘basic blocking and tackling’.
The NIL is a means to impact the program outside of the CAF but effectively by augmenting the CAF.
The final sum will ultimately be greater than all the individual parts simply given the passion and pride within our Crusader Football Family.
The all consuming Mission remains the same: A commitment to excellence in helping our Crusaders win on and off the field.
Thank you one and all.
LET’S WIN !!
