Arizona Diamondbacks manager Torey Luvollo was interviewed briefly. I recall that his son played baseball for HC and played in the minors and maybe had a stint in the majors. Anyone know how or what he's doing today? Thanks in advance.

Senators one game away! No Garcia and no Scherzer; best that they wrap it up with Eovaldi tonight.

Senators/Rangers last team from the early 60's expansion to win it all joining the Mets ('69) Astros/Colt 45's ('17), and Angels ('02) (who have managed to move from Los Angeles to California to Anaheim to Los Angeles at Anaheim)
Next up: The Padres and the Brewers/Pilots who came to life in the late 60's. Both have made it to the World Series but didn't win it. Then of course there's the Indians/Guardians who have won it all ('48) , but have a longer drought than their expansion brethren.

Both have made it to the World Series but didn't win it. Then of course there's the Indians/Guardians who have won it all ('48) , but have a longer drought than their expansion brethren. For the worst watched World Series ever, this one had some interesting games. Read Our Team: The Epic Story of Four Men and the World Series That Changed Baseball by Luke Epplin about the Cleveland team that won in 1948. It tells about the season and the World Series through telling the stories of Larry Doby, Bill Veeck, Bob Feller, and Satchel Paige. I learned from this book that Veeck (famous also for playing 3'7" Eddie Gadel) paid Effa Manley, the owner of the Newark Eagles $15,000 to buy up Doby's contract. Walter O'Malley and many other owners simply signed the Negro League players with no compensation to their teams.
