I don’t think it’s tough to keep HC out of the playoffs (if I understand correctly) when one considers that our quality win is a 2-pointer over a mid-pack Patriot League team. If Merrimack beats Duchesne for the NEC AQ, we gain a victory over a playoff team and if Yale wins the IL that gives us a victory over a second league champion. Those might qualify as quality wins. We’re not getting at at-large. No matter what. It’s better that we just accept it and root really hard for the Engineers next week.

Very impressed by the HC turnout at the game.
FBS teams take notice. HC travels, buys tickets and spends money at your stadium.

We bring the fans! I did see Army played in front of 100k at LSU. I wonder how Army attendance will be when they switch to a conference. Would you rather see BC and HC or UAB and North Texas? Temple is probably the only one with fans who could drive to the game but I don't think many Temple fans show up to their own home games. (As an aside, the American might be the only conference with a game featuring the Owls vs the Owls).

I agree but I think the rationale in the process is flawed I am having an enjoyable conversation with many of the Sttat voters to explain why teams #3-7 in the CAA, Sky and Valley are more highly regarded than the top 2 in other conferences and should we expect the committee to offer the same slots for those conferences Asking for logic and facts and the answers don't provide answers to either question

There is a half life to people's impressions about the strength of a team/league that takes awhile to wear off. If we had this season during one of TG's final years I don't think our ratnkings would have been as high.

Used by the committee
Rule #3
1. Non-conference record 2. Strength of non-conference opponents. 3. Recent postseason history. 4. Competition against Football Bowl Subdivision opponents.

I think a decisive win on Saturday could be impactful. 🫰✝️

Nice effort and glad you got to play Army. Best wishes except against Delaware if you face off in the FCS play offs.

Not suggesting in or out, but the Committee has the frame to build a different house if it so chooses

Back to the actual game, my intention was to watch the game on tape after seeing it live as I have CBS SN and was sure I had it set up to tape as well as I have all HC games that are on Cox automatically taped.
Whatever happened, no tape!😩
Anyone know how I can get it?

Perhaps CBS sports on demand

Good game, almost eked it out at a well-attended, and easily-viewed (on TV) game against an FBS opponent. Still, almost doesn't count. It doesn't change much for the playoffs, where we'll assuredly need to win the PL somehow to get in. It also proves the point that there will be times where you have to throw to win. Sluka running like 40 times isn't always the recipe for victory.

Amusing rant by this guy re one-sided officials hurting Army He didn’t mention the questionable roughing the passer call against us late Q4

Wow! Holy Cross "classless" and "dirtiest team" Army has played? We talk about our fans wearing purple glasses but this guy seems upset that Holy Cross didn't just let the cadets win because, you know, it was Veteran's Day. And those refs? They apparently also were unaware it was Veterans Day.

I was at the game and saw it completely differently. So many classless stunts pulled by the Army players. The very proud veteran behind me was commenting on it to his wife! He was embarrassed. It's why Coker finally cracked. No, he shouldn't have handed #2 the ball in the end zone after the touchdown, but #2 is a total punk and not who Army wants representing them.

Did we ever get a replay of Matt with his hand in an Army guys facemask? I was helping my wife with the baby when I got a quick glance at it, but I'd be willing to bet any outrage from Army fans towards us is probably due to that.

Also, the salute to the crowd after the touchdown was actually to a huge HC fan section, not Army fans. If I were this guy I'd be pretty salty too. He knows Army got lucky to walk away with a W.

I finally found a video of the roughing call. I saw it live but didn't see the very end of it. The QB was stationary in the pocket. He gets more protection because he's defined as a defenseless player. The defender took two full steps after the pass was thrown and led with his forearm. It wasn't.a vicious hit but he did knock him down. I would have thrown on it; some officials might have passed on it. It's one of those calls where no matter what you call someone's not going to be happy.

100% on Shorter TD. That end zone was nearly all HC. Probably 80-85%. Hence the audible crowd reaction on Monte’s 4th down goal line hit from that end zone. This guy acts like Shorter saluted the cadet section. Game was chippy both ways all day and I witnessed first hand those DBs trying to get under Coker and Shorter’s skin. We have to be smarter which it looked to me Chesney and Gunnell were telling Jalen after the penalty.

There was an informal PC gathering in the Strayer Hotel after the game. Near the end Coach James and several players came in. My wife and I were talking with Eric Schon and Dillon Springer for several minutes. Our program turns out exceptional young men. Having a winning program is important, but for many of us the success our players have after they graduate (and 99 percent of them do) is more important. One of midwest's teammates has contact with some of our coaches from the early 2000s. One who is coaching at another school told him that the difference between HC and many other schools is that at HC you can carry on an intelligent conversation with your players about something other than football.

I take a back seat to no one in my respect for those young men and women who attend the service academies, but I have seen on occasion some very boorish conduct by Army athletes. I don't make any sweeping generalizations but it is unfortunate.
