Four quality losses and four bucks gets you a grande at Starbucks. We only lose to league leaders or FBS, but have no quality wins, especially with Fordham losing today, to balance them against.
But the luck pendulum doesn't swing in one direction forever, it could swing back next week with a Lehigh win in their big rivalry game.

Besides the turnovers and blocked punt, the most important stat was 8 penalties for 65 yards, many in the crucial fourth quarter

Jordan Fuller had 5 carries for 20 yds. Did he get injured?

Tough loss....guys played great....kudos to our D minus Dobbs.
It is what it is ultimately.....would rather play Army and BC and lose than play some directional state school in the FCS playoffs.
Maybe I'm old school...stay off my lawn!!!

That (the win over Fordham) is a very sad ‘quality’ win.

Mehhh...ultimately, who cares if we beat NW South Dakota Montana State??? Sour grapes! Seriously.....not really.....the HC football regular season playing Harvard, Yale, Colgate, BC and Army etc is far superior imo to playing the schools we do in the FCS playoffs, I really couldn't care less about beating Montana St or Furman as much as I want to beat BC or Army.

Section 30. At the game, sitting next to an Army fan , father a WP grad who taught at the school for years. At first: How big is HC?Confidently, oh it's so small. First half.. Look at the little guy Sluka slither & squirm. He's a fun little guy. Ahem. HC's defense begins to control the game. Sluka & co. score. 14-7. Sluka is unstoppable as HC's young but talented defense stops Army cold.Silence. 17-14 w/HC clearly the better team marching to victory. More defining silence. Army fan moves 3 seats away and puts his kids next to us. Army does in fact win the game but loses the sense of victory. Losing is like cancer. it's never fun to hear the word but it can be managed. And, like cancer, losing can be manageable. HC was the better team & everybody knew it. I realize you play to win the game. There are no losses with moral victories. But, counterintuitively, Army in winning was not a good team but HC in defeat was in fact a very good team.. I am incredibly proud of these guys.

Frankie Monte did a terrific Jacob Dobbs imitation performance today.

Defense was absolutely fantastic today. What a job by those guys up front to largely neutralize Army’s running attack.
Sluka, for as talented and great as he is, made some poor decisions today that ultimately did us in. I’d love to see what the game looked like had we decided to pass 30+ times…I think our skill guys in space (Coker, Shorter, Purdy, Shipman) would have beaten their guys.

Agree about the D, played stout except for a few hiccups. The key to me was the 5 man DL which enabled the LBs to pursue effectively. I was impressed by the LB freshman #6.
The O’s total arsenal is not utilized due to the heavy reliance on the 2 offensive stars.

Defense allowed 10 points to ARMY! 10! Why didn’t we throw ball more against a poor secondary. 37 QB runs seems odd. Not sure what the problem was today but our WR’s were wide open all day. Huge opportunity to sneak in the playoffs today. Kudos the the defense incredible day today!

A great, old school defensive struggle.
Both defenses controlled the game. Which is refreshing.
As an aside...was at the game. Every college football fan in the country should at one point go to a game at West Point. I've been to SEC, Big Ten, ACC games....Michie is by far the best and most fulfilling atmosphere in the nation.

Sports Illustrated called Michie the third best sports venue during a ranking they did years ago. That place is magical.

I don’t care what anyone says that god awful roughing the passer call cost us the game. Horrible call and then excessive celebration on our TD, these Refs had camo on, not stripes. Unbelievable atmosphere there though. I heard they were Patriot League refs Attendance: 30,603

There’s no such things as “Patriot League” refs.

Back from the game. Thought today would have been a good spot to work Pesansky in for at least a few series. Sluka wasn’t quite himself and I would have liked to force Army to deal with two very different offenses.

What an incredible gameday experience! From the Cadet parade to the parachutes and howitzers, it was a great atmosphere. Shuttles and traffic could use some work but they have geography and topography working against them.
I would have liked to see Joe P and Matt playing. I think slinging it a bit on Army's secondary would have yielded better results than 25+ QB runs. If they keep records on most combined QB runs by two teams, we just saw the record. Our offensive play calling and like the Lafayette game, going for it on a 4th when we could have taken a FG hurt us in the end. Agree with 12, that roughing the passer killed us. So did the blocked punt. Was that a bad snap? Meant to post in game but my service on the phone was terrible in the south endzone.
D played their heart out without Dobbs. That stand is one I'll remember forever. Proud of the team. Hope we run it back. Wish we had a football conference with BC and Army.

Also had a great day at the game - our defense grew up today and really played well Fuller was hurt on a Sluka keeper down by the goal line in the 3rd qtr (not 4th) and was in a boot on his left ankle We were clearly the better team and just a shame we didn’t get the win. Heard from reliable source Dobbs has a separated shoulder and has been rehabbing - outside possibility to play vs GU
