BU hands Lafayette their first PL loss and Colgate dispatches AU easily. Bucknell also wins and is now 5-3 in conference.

Great comeback by Wyoming, but certainly not the greatest regular season comeback in history. I can think of a few better ones including Bucknell beating Colgate in 2018 after trailing by eight points with 22 seconds left. And they didn’t even need OT to win that one.

Saw where BC is last in the nation in "free throw defense".
That is, opponents' free throw percentage is 78.3% in games against the Eagles.
Even HC upped its game from the line against them- going 17/22 or 77.3%, quite a jump from HC's average of 64.7%.
By the way, opponents are shooting 74.0% against the 'Saders.

We're allowing way too many uncontested shots from the line - need to get a hand in their face.

I will give them credit for at least having a separate thread for most of their games; with Colgate, a "2023-24 season" thread is all they have.

For how bad this program has been over 15 years, the activity on this board is really impressive. I’d challenge someone to show me a board with the number of posters and activity for another school that has a similar profile as HC. I don’t think you could.

Frankly, the numbers shocked me when you guys were good. The only downside I see is that there are not a lot of new posters. I think message boards peaked a number of years ago. People have migrated to X (gag) and elsewhere.

For those not happy with the HC defense, check out the Albany-UMBC game from yesterday. UMBC 114, Albany 102. No overtime - resembled a pickup game.

Perry scores 23, the rest of his team, 21. Greyhounds 4-20 from 3 point range, the Americans a stellar 2-25. AT HOME! Believe it or not, AU was 14-21 inside the arc. You'd have to say w/those numbers, not going down low more was being more than a little stubborn.

To be fair, AU was missing some players, and playing 3-4 walk ons. Wonder if they will get some guys back for Saturday.
Really crazy that the only change in the standings last night was AU dropping down into a tie with Bucknell.

Meanwhile, perhaps to be filed in the Grass Not Greener folder - Judson Martindale's Pacific Tigers scored 28 points in a loss to St. Mary's last night. Not Judson - his whole team; 76-28 loss. Judson himself had 6; team scored 14 in each half. My UC Irvine Anteaters, meanwhile, won, and are in 3 way tie for first in the Big West. Not too long ago the PL overall was on a par with the BW, but if they had a PL-Big West Challenge this year I'm not sure if the PL would take a game......and it's not that the BW has really improved. They only lost the rematch Tuesday night by 41 points. Judson had one basket.

On a positive note, RJ Johnson leads Charleston Southern in avg. points, 3 point %, free throw % and assists.
Good for him, I liked his game and wished we got to see more of it.

Really crazy that the only change in the standings last night was AU dropping down into a tie with Bucknell. That would be our starting point guard, backup big, sixth man and seventh man. Which left us with exactly five scholarship players last night, with three walk-ons logging minutes, one of whom hadn't played a second all season until yesterday.

AU has been playing with nine scholarship guys this season?
