Certainly no one will care but I turned down HC, BC and UMass to go to ND. WPI turned down me. WPI was stupid. They also gave up their name for three letters. I believe "WPI" is their official name, not Worcester Polytechnic(al?) Institute. They gave up their moniker of "Worcester Tech" to Worcester Vocational Technical High School for nothing, not even a bag of balls. Good school though.🙂

Cornell. But my point. Recent HC grads don't seem to view HC with the same high esteem as did earlier generations. Did HC lower its academic standards for admission? I cannot imagine this to be the case.

. Many turned down other more prestigious secular colleges. I have to call you out on the statement above. No one in your class or mine turned down an opportunity to attend a more prestigious college. I know this to be true because there is no college on the planet more prestigious then the College of the Holy Cross Wonderful! I agree. My mistake. But, do younger alums share your opinion?

I don't think "Worcester Tech" was a ever used or promoted by the school, although it was the common name among locals Some years ago, the Worcester Vocational High School (commonly Worcester Voke or just Voke) moved from downtown to an area kind of on the border of Green Hill and Bell Hill. When they moved to the new building the school was re-named Worcester Technical High School. It sounded better for the 21st century. City officials almost immediately started calling it Worcester Tech for short The first year it was open there was a big basketball tournament at the new high school. Things got completely fouled up because all of the refs who were assigned a game at Worcester Tech showed up at WPI. Referring to WPI as Worcester Tech fell out of popular use because of the confusion combined with one institution actively using and promoting the nickname and one institution not using it at all

I cannot imagine this to be the case. Probably the opposite. They let me in back in the olden days and based on the current students I've had the pleasure of meeting, they wouldn't let me anywhere neat the school today

I do remember something coming out several years ago that WPI was requesting media to refer to it as WPI instead of the full official name and feeling quizzical about that. The full name paints a better picture of who the school is and where it is. Holy Cross had to paint an ugly brown map on the Hart Center floor to clear up any confusion of where it's located.

HC could have been the next Seton Hall, but we missed that opportunity. Oh, what might have been….., Or Nova?

Minnesota State in a thriller for D-2 national championship. Brother to brother pass then three point corner shot with 0.8 seconds left for the win.

Minnesota State is D-2. When the game ended their terrific State University quality band erupted with the school fight song. A school is the division it says it is, and that is fine.

Did either team have any good underclassmen bigs?

I just caught the last few minutes. Every player looked quick and the bigs looked rangy as opposed to oafish. Minnesota State won both M&W D-2 crowns. Second time ever in D-2 while UConn has done it twice so far in D-1 pending next weekend.

NC State has the most losses(14) of any final four team in history. I've enjoyed watching them throughout their run. Burns is very interesting. I haven't followed his pro evaluations. His unique size and surprising coordination vs lack of quickness.
