Is the ACC no longer a P-5 conference?
I don't see the argument for leaving Florida St out of the play-off picture. Unless you have 5 undefeated P-5 teams, not sure how you justify leaving an undefeated team out. They did everything and were told the ACC undefeated ACC champion isn't good enough to make the play-off
TPTB must be rooting real hard for Georgia to save embarrassment.

Their star quarterback is injured and out for the year. They can't score points with him injured and out, and would probably get blown out in a non-competitive matchup in the playoffs. There is a provision in the guidance for the selection committee to omit teams based on player/coach availability as part of the decision-making process. It's unfair, but the whole damn sport is unfair at that level. Why start now?

The criteria is best teams, not best seasons. If you want best season we should go back to the BCS system where results were just plugged into a computer which spit out a ranking. Their failure to qualify as one of the 4 "best teams" was validated in part a book in Vegas announcing they would have been 2 TD underdogs to any of the 4 other teams in the playoff. To guestimate how they would have perfomed, watch their bowl game with UGA closely...although that won't be perfect as I'd anticipate some players from each school sit that out.

FSU beat BC by 2. BC beat us by 3. Unless we get a New Year's Six Bowl game...I think Texas and Bama have a stronger body of work, but that's just my thought. The ACC will certainly be more watered down with the additions of Cal and Stanford, but SMU could add some competitiveness.
