For those interested in coach compensation: Cignetti will earn a $500,000 base salary every year through the end of his contract on November 30, 2029. Cignetti will also earn an average of $3.75 million in annual outside marketing and promotional income, as well as an annual $250,000 retention bonus beginning on November 30, 2024.www.thedailyhoosier.com/details-on-curt-cignettis-contract-with-indiana/All sorts of performance bonuses and perks too. no surprise....7 of the 11 assistants are following Cignetti from JMU......the cupboard's will be pretty bare for BC to fill with HC staffers

Mike as in DiMike, or do you mean Cordova or another coach DiMike - I was fat fingering my phone while on a conference call.

I'll care when Grautski changes his Twitter profile to JMU. If HC can keep him that'd be huge.

The only one I was really concerned about was DeMike but that's understandable and done. Grautski I can't relate to but those who understand see him as a big loss. Moving on.

JC Evans was committed to Jax State. Never even visited HC. Just a couple more clicks and check the source for basic research fellas.

I read it as telling the JMU faithful that were worried about Ches’ ability to recruit at the FBS level that he’ll be fine.

This concept of “recruiting at the FBS level” is just as silly as the “recruiting at an academic school”: total nonsense. Either you’re a persuasive salesman/advocate for your product or your team or you are not.

This concept of “recruiting at the FBS level” is just as silly as the “recruiting at an academic school”: total nonsense. Either you’re a persuasive salesman/advocate for your product or your team or you are not. "You can have it all at (checks index card) JMU."🙂 That was meant to be humorous, not a knock on Chesney whom I love. He is a great advocate and wouldn't go to a school that couldn't be proudly represented just to get a raise. This whole progression of Chesney to JMU and Curran to HC is all good. We only got six years from Chesney but they were all years of positive momentum for HC FB and therefore HC itself. The growth was far more profound than if a Villanova or UNH got hot in the playoffs one year and went all the way. Those programs were already a factor in FCS six years ago while HC was not. Like Coach Riga from Westborough and Kit who skated at the Hart rink as a kid, Coach Curran can communicate HC's long positive reputation in personal terms to recruits far and near. We are going from strength to strength.

He's gotta win football games having (likely) lost one of the most dynamic QBs and WRs in the history of the school, among others. Then I will agree that we are going to strength, still.

I'm sick of giving everyone chances. We give chances out for years. Then we retool, and have to give out more chances. We're like the second draw pile in Monopoly. I want to see results. And there are many of your that are far older than I am and have actually seen the glory days. I just want to be respected every year.

Respected means you retain most of your recruits after a coaching change. The Duffner glory days did not include the playoffs. We are ahead in that regard now.

I have no doubts about Joe P having watched his starts this year. We knew he was good coming in and he is as advertised. I am more worried about our line but we do have a few guys who played serious time coming back. Joe needs guys to throw the ball to. I wonder how much of an impact freshman will have. I really like the size of Sir Charles and hope he can be the next Coker. We have a bunch of good slot types now. Fuller will pound the rock and Joe P will light it up over the top if we have good targets foe him. Just no running QB threat.

Introduce some motion with our TE and what seems to be an athletic future TE in Schoomaker. It is obviously not quite the same as running QB but could open up an inside gap. We have an abundance of smaller receivers it seems and they could potential run some Deebo sweeps and such. You can even have a WR reverse option with a handoff up the middle to Fuller. I hear you though. Without the threat of a QB run, you know the obvious running and passing downs and can stack the box etc. Perhaps mixing motion and inside vs outside runs.

Agree with your analysis....really depends on the offensive scheme Coach Curren implements
