The comments about Dan Curran's son got me to trying to remember if Ernie DiGregorio went to St. Thomas More, which, it turns out, he did. Anyway, in Googling Mr. D., I stumbled upon an article that contained this photo. Attachments:

Amazingly, the 4th guy may be a guy from Mattapoisett who played at UMass, Peter Trow. Great player at Old Rochester Regional. His mother was my 5th Grade English teacher. Great guy who sadly passed recently......I really can't confirm but it looks a lot like him.

Others have confirmed......that is Trow. Great athlete who also played WR at UMass and ran track.
Not exactly Rucker Park but he dominated the games at Mattapoisett's Center School outdoor court well into the 1990s.

I believe so, from what other photos I can find of Umass basketball, Trow seems to be that player and his jersey # was 34.
The photo is from the 72-73 season, the only season that Ernie and Kevin played together (Kevin had to sit out 71-72).
UMass also had a guy named Betancourt, from Mass: but I don't think he was related to the HC/Bucknell brothers. Someone correct me if I'm wrong and he's related to them.

And Marvin Barnes on this team as well?

Another nugget from this game....nearly certain this was the game...saw it as a kid on Channel 10 from Providence with Chris Clark.
Pitino missed the front end of a 1 and 1 and then Stacom hit like a half-court shot to win it for the Friars.

DiGregorio, Stacom, Barnes, Fran Costello from CM,Charlie Crawford, Nehru King...and Larry Ketvirtis from Milton until Barnes clubbed him.

Chris must have been a surveyor in a previous life- liked to say exactly how many feet out a shot attempt came from.

I used to watch Chris Clark call PC games with Jimmy Walker playing and loved kids show host Salty Brine on one of the Providence stations. Got the Boston and Providence stations clear as a bell and a snowy channel 9, WMUR from Manchester, NH. I think there was a snowy channel 6 from the New Bedford area also. I wonder if the big roof antennas still work in metro areas or if they can't handle today's digital signals?
