Now that we have a new leader in place & national signing day around the corner, I figured this will be a hot topic in the coming days/weeks. With the known departures of Kennedy, DMike, and Canan, Curran will have his hands full in recruiting new coaches that are talented coordinators, position coaches and recruiters to the program. At first glance, the staff was quite small at Merrimack, but have to wonder if Coach taps into the UNH coaching tree to fill out the staff....I'd imagine he'll be calling the plays on O, but hope to have clarity after tomorrow's press conference.

NCAA FCS max is 11 coaches who can participate in games & organized practices. Merrimack shows 10 coaching staff HC shows 18; 12 include 'coach' in title; the S&C coach is an exception that doesn't count per NCAA; the titles for the 6 others 'operations, quality control & recruiting'

I love that over the years the College has added more staff to the Football Operation....a sign of support and commitment to the Coach and players.

I hoped to see some names here. I guess we need to wait until his presentation tomorrow to get some of those.

Wouldn't Grautski have changed his X account by now if he was going to JMU?

I’ve never really been sure that conditioning coaches come under the direct purview of the team’s head coach and always thought they were a bit independent of the specific team and more under Kit or Nick.
That said, even if the weather doesn’t prevent me from going tonight, pretty sure it’ll be a grip n grin event with not much substance being divulged.

It may be that Grautski, a local guy, prefers to stay in Massachusetts rather than move to Harrisonburg.

Did he sign or is it still a verbal?

Did he sign or is it still a verbal? I think it'd be more of a "Did he enter the portal yet?"

It may be that Grautski, a local guy, prefers to stay in Massachusetts rather than move to Harrisonburg. I think that being a local guy is great but for Coach Grautski to stay HC will probably have to up the ante a bit. He and Chesney have been together since Assumption. Tough to break that relationship. I do feel like Kit has a clue about how college football actually works so I'm optimistic.

HCDC won't be bring over his Merrimack D Coordinator. He was named head coach today. Hopefully that bodes well for Scott James.

As I stated in an earlier post, pre-hire, I think KH is doing just fine thus far...

It may be that Grautski, a local guy, prefers to stay in Massachusetts rather than move to Harrisonburg. For someone in Chesney's position it seems like the easiest part of assembling a staff would be identifying which coaches are going with you. The tone on the JMU board is along the lines of: Grautski likely to come to JMU but not yet announced.

We know how reliable our boards are haha. Speaking of boards, does Merrimack even have an athletics message board? I looked over the weekend and couldn't unearth anything. I am a little surprised considering the successful hockey program.

Coach Barnes has removed HC from his Twitter bio. Looks like he is gone.

Coach Barnes has removed HC from his Twitter bio. Looks like he is gone. Did some good work with us. I wonder who we will start to get to fill the gaps. We are no longer a place for first time coaches to get experience.

Sounds like Della is also gone. Not much left of the defensive staff.

I find these clues interesting, but why not just wait until the official list is released (in a week)?

Personally, believe the staff is just as big of a part of the program as the recruiting. Any clue or indication I receive, I like to put it out here.
