Quick look back seems to indicate that attendance has been consistently in a tight range of about 1200 to 1500. However, I could literally count heads in the new courtside bleachers end to end in the game-end play video from the Navy game. Is the upper level open yet ?
Probably missed comments but to those who have hit a home game, how's the place look ? How do the new floor baskets look and is that plywood behind them in the notches of the new bleachers ? Is arena noticeably brighter with the new white ceiling....new sound system better ? Does Hart now have a horn or still a buzzer ?
thanks

Is the upper level open yet? yes, much easier to use the new aisles in the bleachers to access the upper level; also convenient upper level access from new main lobby via stairway or elevator

The unpainted plywood is strange, must have run out of paint. I think I have some left after painting my ping pong room

"Blue, green, and cranberry were designated the official state colors of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in 2005. Cranberry is also the official state berry, and cranberry juice is the state beverage."
So why brown on our Hart floor? All the good colors gone? Has a cleaner feel to it on the bright side.

So why brown on our Hart floor? All the good colors gone? Has a cleaner feel to it on the bright side. You get a better sense of this in person than on TV. I thought it looked weird on TV at first, but when seeing it in person, I definitely realized that there was a need for a contrasting color between the purple and the hardwood. You could have gotten away with purple "in the paint" (heck, old Hart did so for ~30 years), but having the contrast of something different at center court is a plus, I think. And once you do that at center court, extending the "brown" (it's really just a darker hardwood stain) into the paint is a reasonable move. If you remember, the last floor (http://www.holycross.edu/athletics/facilities) went with white at center court and unpainted "in the paint". I think that was also a nod to the issue of "purple overload". Let's face it, a) there isn't much that contrasts well with purple, b) adding some random color like Lakers yellow that isn't part of the school colors would be dumb, and c) in my opinion, at least, an all purple/white court is just too much purple. I'm a fan of the new floor.

I think the whole place looks great. Walking into the new lobby is eye-opening, nothing like what was there before, a classy start..The Hart center itself looks great! Much brighter now, and the sound system works great! Everybody I have spoken with raves about the new look, from Barry Parenteau to Bill Gibbons to a few older retired offficials and everybody in the former section F...The floor hoops give the court a better feel, and the new aisles are a pleasant surprise. They really connect the upper level to the lower level. The court itself is really sharp looking. Much better in person than on the computer/tv screen. There is no brown paint, the brown is a stain, which still shows the grain in the hardwood..
The only negative I have about the building is the lack of concessions. One stand with 2 lines just isn't enough. There is a nice space upstairs overlooking the lobby that I think a portable stand could be set up. The second stand in the lobby area is now a marketing stand where HC gear is on sale... Overall I give it a 9 out of 10..(concessions are the only negative).
