Does the thread topic mean the program has finally hit the bottom of the bottom; which I think it has (nowhere lower to go, really); or something else?

You think it can't get lower, and then it gets lower.

With the holidays and all, I'd rather be positive, but I suspect that Dave Paulsen is wondering what he got himself into. While he's preached in multiple forums that this season isn't about wins and losses but rather progress, we certainly aren't getting the wins and doesn't appear to be much progress as the Georgetown win looks more and more like a chimera. Maybe this afternoon everyone will be back and the guys will be hitting all the open shots they've been missing; getting rebounds; smart and accurate passing; and a lockdown defense?

I didn't even know we had a game at Harvard this afternoon until now.....we've dug ourselves a huge hole to climb out of....it's going to take awhile to get out of this.

Not too worried about this, I think Paulsen's been around and has "seen some things" in his career. Taking over this program in the dumpster-fire state he found it, was never going to be a "snap the fingers and make it all better" proposition.
To the "progress" goal, I still think the minutes that the new guys are getting right now can pay off in league play, both in terms of individual growth and in terms of better results in the second half of league play. But as others have noted recently, come mid-March the priorities shift to a) keeping the underclassmen out of the portal, b) developing them further over the offseason, and c) integrating next year's frosh class.
I really do think things will look better a year from now, and hopefully downright exciting two years from now. Realistically, it was foolish to expect things to turn around much faster than that. The hole that Paulsen inherited was just that deep.

Ray’s post is spot on.
Paulsen is no rookie. He knows exactly what he was getting himself into and this wasn’t going to be a quick turn.
I already like what I’ve seen from a few of the freshmen. Let’s continue to see some progression. The PL is so damn bad, there’s still no reason we can’t finish around .500 in the league.

Does the thread topic mean the program has finally hit the bottom of the bottom; which I think it has (nowhere lower to go, really); or something else? sure it's possible to go lower before bouncing. What PL teams do you think we're clearly superior to on paper. I know the better coach will automatically add 4 wins argument but that's not fact based.beteeen injuries, inexperience, very weak inside game, I'm not thinking we're necessarily about to rip off 6 wins in the next 10 games. I hope so, however.

Nadir, probably. Well, we can take some consolation that we are almost at the bottom of the entire NCAA with no where to go but up. There are some talented players on the team now. The needs are well known (PG and a BIG) and the coaches are looking for them as we post. Also, I have see better play from the players. We are getting good/open shots but at times cannot hit them...those are empty minutes. IMHO that will change...trust Paulson.

We’ve had pretty much a never-ending energy nadir since we had the magical run at the end of a bad season in 2016. At least now there’s hope for the future but I can’t invest a lot of my limited energy in HC basketball right now. I’m sure not driving to Worcester to see us play (checks notes) . . . “Elms College.”

That’s because you aren't old enough to have reached that point in life that when you’ve already paid for something (season tickets in this case), you just go so you haven’t “wasted “ money.
Or you go whenever something is “free” even if it costs an arm and a leg much more than whatever the free thing is.
😂😂😂😂

Semi-serious question (serious would be like Israeli-Hamas war, Russia-Ukraine war, etc., so not really that serious but . . . ) who likely scheduled this game? Nelson before he departed in order to up his win/loss record, or Paulsen for whatever his reason(s)?
