Safe to say we're not expecting a Rauner commit?

Carson had a serious knee injury This fall and is reclassifying to Holy Cross for 2025.

That DB I spoke about committed elsewhere. So he's now off the board. Right now it's Miles, another OL and TE is what I expect at this point.

#8 and #9 Alijah Cason WR from TX and Sircharles Gordon WR from OH Sircharles is most likely the first Sircharles WR at HC. Really going out on a limb there, trimster! I'll take it further. I think he may be the first Sircharles to enroll in the 180 year history of HC !

A couple queries for you recruiting gurus:
When does the transfer portal close?
Are transfers lumped in with this recruiting class numbers-wise? In other words, how many or how is it determined how many transfers we can take in for the 2024 rostah?
Thanks.

Transfer portal talk is meaningless unless HC admissions is on board.
Been a big hurdle over the years when attempting this route.

Portal closes on Jan 4. Lots of these kids want to be on campus by Jan 15 to start classes and participate with their team.
These kids are placed in the respective class based on classes that transfer and years of eligibility. They count against the overall 85 players on scholarship amount and 60 in terms on overall dollars.
HC could take a number of them. Question has been - can they get in.
At this point it seems like this class today could now be 12-14 based on a few things that have now happened.
If it’s 14 today - I expect the second signing/portal to be about 14 kids.

I’ll come out with a break down for expectations and needs and projected scholarship money for the second signing (2/7) tomorrow after the dust settles today.

Forgive what might be seen as a silly question and purely academic:
Jake Dobbs has finished his time with Holy Cross and officially transferring to JMU. JMU is going to a bowl game but I haven't been paying attention when and assume it has yet to be played.
Can Jacob, if he chooses, play in that game?

Class seems a little underwhelming so from compared to the initial commitments we got.
Hopefully we have a solid afternoon to wrap up the first signing period

Sircharles Gordon is best name in college football. Nah, can't compare to Kool-Aid McKinstry (AL), the #1 rated DB in the country.

Hopefully we have a solid afternoon to wrap up the first signing period Since you are a big vibes guy, 2 questions for you. 1) What is the avg number of Decommits per D1 team (of public verbals) after a post season coaching change since 2021 ? 2) What is the avg number of existing players per team that jump into the portal after a post season coaching change?

I have nothing concrete to back it up, but I would say we are currently comfortably below average. Though, some of that is just because we're slightly isolated in the FCS. I've seen big FBS schools lose nearly entire classes before (including enrolled classes) due to coaching changes. If we count only Shorter in the portal due to the change (I'm assuming Stu and Rosenberg were for other reasons), I actually think that's a pretty good success rate. Losing 3ish recruits in a 14 person class seems high at first glance, but I don't think it's any sort of anomaly or portent of bad things to come.

Though I should caution trusting my vibes too much at the moment, I was pretty sure we were gonna lock down TJ. That one caught me off guard

The answers are half through all FBS and FCS (so 7 the benchmark) and 9 for portal entires (we have 1 currently with a big asterisk next to it)
Now we can have a legit convo about expectations of how this administration and staff left have done over the past week and a half.

I want to see some Bergen Catholic Don Bosco St Joe's Montvalle As do I(and I would add a few other NJ parochials to that group - like Delbarton, St Peters, and Seton Hall). I just don't see any new names right now.

I would guess that at some schools, the new coach makes it clear that some players will not be having their scholarships renewed. I would think that it would be better to learn that early than after not seeing any reps during spring football.

I just don't see any new names right now. As a St. Joe's graduate, I can report they had a very few D1 seniors except RB Yassin Willis who signed with Syracuse. The junior class has 5 to 7 D1 players who will be promoted heavily next year with the return of Augie Hoffman as head coach. Bosco and Bergen had pre-signing ceremonies at their schools yesterday and based on twitter coverage, HC not mentioned. Bergen for the last 3 to 4 years has had the most talent and would be the roster to look at. KOT1972

Best to Carson, a terrific talent who can run and throw. If he's close to what he was we're getting a good one.
