Huge Caleb block sends HC into the locker room up by one at halftime.

Typical game for HC. Get a lead and then go stone cold and have turnovers. We are lucky to be still ahead . . . . marginally.

Personal Fouls HC 16 Navy 7
Free Throws HC 2-3Navy 11-15
Navy has 7 more field goal attempts and 12 more free throw attempts--hard to win under those circumstances

Down ten with 1:12 left. Let the fouling begin and most likely lose by more but give it a shot. Maybe we are getting closer to a league win.

🤢🤮 Putting the best spin on this game, I wasn’t able to go to watch in person as under the weather but this game didn’t do anything to make me feel better.
15 turnovers to 4. 20 Navy turnover points to 5 for HC.
Navy 25 of 30 FTs.
HC 5 for 7 FTs.
Pretty easy to see how we lost.

Games are often won and lost in the paint, and HC always comes up short. The guys are working hard so I feel bad for them. I thought tonight's game and Army's game were games HC would win. I'm starting to fear that my guess of 4 PL/playoff games was too high.

We’re not good at basketball. Hopefully the freshmen continue to develop and next year’s freshmen class is the best we’ve had in a while. If so, we could be pretty good in 2025-26. Until then . . .

The second half looked like HC was up against one of the better Princeton teams of the Carril era. (Barnes Hauptfuhrer, anyone?)
A virtual clinic of cutting, passing, resulting in layups or in-the-act-of-shooting fouls.
34 points in the 4th quarter for the Middies. Or, for those who want to bust my balls because the game is two halves, then 34 points in the last ten minutes.

Double digit turnover differential
I thought Navy pick and rolled really well
I had hoped Montgomery would be dressed to night and we'd see the team at full strength for the second time. Not only did Montgomery not dress, neither did Tse. Capron also did not dress

Navy junior Mac MacDionald goes for 35 points, breaking his previous high of 17 . And exceeding his per game average (7.3 ppg)coming into tonight’s game about 28 points. C’mon.

We now rank dead last of 362 teams in KenPom’s defensive rankings.

Side note -
Ryan seemed to twist his ankle and hobbled off the court in the first half. He seemed to move OK during warm ups for second half, but did not return

Siena is below us in the bottom 6 per Ken Pom. It can always be worse. Siena board is in meltdown. If the season ended today, we would have our lowest Ken Pom rating ever. Yikes.

He seemed to move OK during warm ups for second half, but did not return I would have liked to see him get another shift if he was physically able to do so. Louth was clueless last night, it seemed. Better still, wish Bo could play; I think we needed someone with more mobility out there, not less; even if giving up MORE inches.

"BRING BACK BRETT!" (he said sarcastically) Can't blame Dave Paulsen for trying to instill a "never give up" mentality in the troops; however, he's making a good run at Brett's record for calling time outs at the end of a game where the lead is definitely insurmountable.
