Definitely premature, but The Athletic has us as a #16 in the Play-in First 4 in Palo Alto Stanford is a beautiful campus

More exciting for the kids than a bus ride to Storrs.

I can't recall if it has or not. That would be a blow to the league. Last season 18-13 Sacred Heart played 18-14 Southern in the first four (SHU won) and those two teams certainly wouldn't have been at large selections. The First Four weeds out but also give an opportunity for an NCAA win to teams who wouldn't qualify for the tournament if it simply selected the best 64 or 68 teams in the country. It's a glass half full/half empty arrangement. It worked out well for HC MBB in 2016 as it kept the magic going for two games in the NCAA tournament. It must be a let down for the two losing teams.

I think there should be an auto NIT selection for the team that loses the first four game in both men and women's but that's just me.

With the top of the league being so weak I’d say our champ is locked into the play-in game - pretty sad

Isn't it the same as for the men; four of the First Four are #16s (there are 6 to start with) and the other four are #11s?

Number 14 and 15 seeds are a combined 0 wins and 224 losses since 1994. Number 16 seeds are 1-111. Any discussion of where the PL women's champ goes and how it affects their ability to win a game is kind of silly IMHO. At this point I would worry more about avoiding a play in game in pl tournament

Really, really worried about how their attention to detail and aggressiveness both simply vanished the last few games. Shooting has been bad but that can come back (if the right people are taking the right shots).

Other teams might be younger and have more portal newcomers so didn't get up to speed playing team defense as quickly as HC did in the first PL go-around but now are playing better defense in their second PL games against HC? Time for a counter-offensive on both offense and defense from HC.

What can happen easily is another league ends up having the equivalent of HCs miracle men's run a few years ago and the result is a lower ranked team than HC. HC, if everything went according to form; has the best NET of the 4 schools that would end up in the First Four. Won't take much to move HC up a rung or two.
