Great job as they held Navy scoreless the last 2:30 of the game, in part because Navy made some bad shots. HC finishes the game on a 9-0 run.

Our color analyst is Erin Salvador who according to the internet is a former Harvard player, an Ivy League player of the year, a member of the Harvard Hall of Fame and currently a physician in Greenfield, MA. Impressive. I don't think we have had the pbp guy before but he was fine also. They seemed to know much about both teams, which is appreciated.

She mentioned they watched HC against Bucknell in their prep for this game. That shows.

Did a fine job with the post game interviews with MM and the seniors

Only deficiencies were some blown layups and way too many offensive rebounds for the Middies.
But the aforementioned layups; plus the ones they made, of course; demonstrated how much better they moved the ball today.
And part of those misses (and a couple makes too) might have been the result of calls underneath not made; Ms. Allen was roughed up pretty good, probably should have gotten to the line 2 or 3 more times.
Hopefully, for their sake, Navy keeps its roster in tact going forward; that's a pretty talented young club!

Well done, young women. As usual, you make this alum proud to call you fellow Crusaders, on the court, but more importantly off it. I am grateful for your years at HC.

Any idea which of these ladies might pursue a final season of college ball elsewhere? The only person that might not qualify for one is Callie Wright.
With everyone's blessing, I might add. Do not see any circumstances that would keep anyone in a purple uniform. And graduate school is not cheap!

Why wouldn't she get a Covid year? I hope they all get a roster spot if they want one or an opportunity to play in Europe if that's what they want. A coach could potentially value any of them over a high school senior for one year, especially if the coach is in a contract year.

It was the latter, so, yes, she would have another year of eligibility.

She played 14 games her freshman year including one start but Memphis hired a new head coach for her sophomore year and she only only played five games that year so she might have a red shirt season to boot. Very glad she transferred to Holy Cross as you can see steady improvement. There are only a few games left in the regular season and playoffs but each game is critical, and she played well yesterday with her timely passes resulting in five assists to one turnover. She should keep improving next year or two years since she hasn't played that many minutes in her career.

Just double checked, you are right. How many other players, due to injury, coach transitions, roster construction or other reasons have finally started to round into their full potential as senior year is winding down with no opportunity to keep playing? The Covid year has been great for players.

Wright has a somewhat odd paper history, last season she was listed on the roster as a sophmore & now a senior. I assume she either got approval for credits from Memphis that may have been in question at the time of her transfer or has somehow made up the defference. I guess all 4 have a COVID year available.

Have not read any comment about the incident that happened before the start of yesterday's game.... anybody attend the game that saw/can attest to what happened???
Have heard that that there were a couple of woman who stood for the playing of the black anthem (guess that's what it is called) and sat for our national anthem... Apparently a fan in attendance took offense at this and called/shouted them out on this with some pretty harsh language.... security came in and he was escorted out of the Hart! Guessing he probably was a vet and took offense at what they did...
Anyone in attendance to verify/corroborate???1

Anyone in attendance to verify/corroborate???1 Are you talking about a couple of women in the audiences who stood for the black national anthem and sat for our national anthem, or a couple of women's basketball players who did that? A few thoughts: Singing or playing the Star Spangled Banner before games and standing is a cherished tradition, but it should never become a mandatory law or anything. "Lift every voice and sing," the "black national anthem" should be able to be sung by anyone anytime, but if it is played to compete or replace the national anthem, somebody is trying to create division and conflict. What country can they find where people have more rights and freedoms and minorities are treated better? Any patrons screaming at other patrons should be escorted out after warning, except for the "You, you, you" chanters 🙂 I can't imagine any HC players upsetting Senior day with this malarkey and the Midshipmen wouldn't dare. But who played "Lift every voice?"

Hope that's available on the website. "Oh Canada" is a beautiful anthem. Rene Rancourt, retired Boston Garden anthem singer, sang both anthems before an HC hockey game at the Hart rink one time I believe.

Lift Every Voice and Sing has been played prior to the Star Spangled Banner prior to games in honor of Black History Month. That has been clearly stated prior to playing it at every game I’ve attended this month.

It is an admirable gesture by HC but could be abused by people wanting to create controversy. I am a little skittish about different Americans having different American National Anthems. But I'm an old guy who said both the pledge of allegiance and Our Lord's Prayer (Protestant version) in class to start school days in a public grade school and never questioned that.
