With RM asking for $10M from the state it will be interesting to see if the plan gets off the ground.

Is this cost attainable? When discussing upgrading the Hart rink to be in line with ECAC and better level AHA sheets I remember seeing number two to three times this thrown around.

Nice to have an overflow arena downtown at the DCU if we need it. Popcorn is expensive there, but not $50 million.

That reasoning is exactly why HC continues to have the worst (arguably) rink in all of Division 1 hockey. Robert Morris clearly didn't think the PPG Paints arena in downtown Pittsburgh was suitable for them, or any other minor pro building nearby (if that even exists within reason.) Nor did Union think that way as of this morning's announcement. College hockey rinks are about so much more than the number of seats, concession stands, luxury boxes, and fancy scoreboards. - The guts of the rink, where the hockey programs call home, are the biggest component and factor. Spend 30 mins on Youtube looking at Div 1 hockey locker rooms tours.

I'm a fan of sustainable cities where community resources are shared, maintained and broadly utilized, but if a major donor is found I will celebrate a new HC arena with everybody else.

My point exactly. That's who we are in comparison with currently.

I'm shocked Stonehill has a D1 hockey team. Caught me completely by surprise. What are the odds on AHA wanting another team? 11 seems kind of awkward.
