Army scored 2 in the bottom of the ninth to beat Navy 7-6 and win that series - likely Army will be top seed Navy finishing 15-10. They can do no worse than finishing second (hold the tiebreaker against us). Army would have to lose out and we'd have to win out to finish ahead of them. Not happening.

If scores hold up from today’s games, Lehigh and Lafayette will almost assuredly be done. Bucknell will have finished the PL regular season at 12-13. So long as we finish with 12 wins, we’ll beat Bucknell with the head to head tiebreaker. Just a question of whether we are going to Annapolis or West Point now. Very likely. However, in the unlikely event of a three-way tie between Bucknell, Holy Cross, and Lafayette at 12–13, Bucknell actually would end up with the three seed, and holy Cross would end up with the four seed.

Import to note that 14 of our 21 PL games have been on the road - that makes the 11-10 record more impressive

Final ooc game tonight (6pm) at home vs. Brown, overall 9-26 record (4-14 Ivy). This is our 46th game of the season but only our 10th at Fitton where we're 7-2 (How our players keep up with their academics is admirable). I do not believe any D.1 team in the country has played as many game as we have up to this date.

I do not believe any D.1 team in the country has played as many game as we have up to this date. The reason for that is the Patriot League having four game weekends and finishing the season a week early. BTW, Lafayette has played 45 games heading into today and Navy 44

Two Honorable Mentions for the PL PoW
Jimmy King, Holy Cross, Jr., SS, Philadelphia, Pa./St. Joseph’s Prep *King batted .500 (9-for-18) with five RBIs and four runs scored to help the Crusaders go 3-1 last week, including taking two of three games from Lehigh. The junior shortstop went 5-for-5 with one double, three RBIs and one run scored in Sunday’s 14-2 victory against the Mountain Hawks. Danny Macchiarola, Holy Cross, So., RHP, Garden City, N.Y./Xavier *Macchiarola earned a win against Lehigh on Saturday by allowing two runs on five hits over 6.0 innings. He struck out a career-high 10 batters with just one walk in the victory.

I turned on the game in the bottom of the 9th to see HC bat down 5-4. First pitch--hit batter, second pitch--hit batter, third batter--walk, fourth batter--hit by pitch (tie run comes home), next batter--single up the middle to win. Wild.

Take one game from Lafayette on Saturday and we're in the PLT.
Will be traveling to Annapolis, unless we take all four games this weekend and Army loses all four (not happening).
It would be a major accomplishment if we are able to finish the regular season at .500 -- in order to do so, need to take three of four against the L schools.

Impressive season to date for the team, especially considering some major injuries along the way. Going .500 with a team ERA of 6.90 is quite the feat. The offense has carried this team from the beginning, and they’ll be relied upon for continued production in the playoffs.
At the risk of looking too far ahead, I hope whoever is in charge of recruiting the pitchers takes a page out of the position player recruitment book to get some comparable talent to hill soon. This team would be seriously dangerous if it could limit other teams on the mound with any sort of consistency.

72% of games on the road. How much would huge fans connected directly to the heating plant cost to blast the field dry for early season home games? Please include the words "flood plain" in your answer.🙂

Looking forward to this weekend, 3-3 vs. Navy on the season. Took 2 out of 3 at home and dropped 2 out of 3 at Navy. Hopefully we reverse that and get the series W.
Considering the last few seasons, 25-25 is a terrific record and starting point to build for the future. Best overall record since 2016 when we won 29 games (I always forget we went to NCAA's in 2017 with a losing record overall).

Navy won the season series 3-2 - they swept the 2 games played in Annapolis - if we would have swept Lehigh on Sunday we would have finished with the same PL record as Navy, 15-10 but lose the tiebreaker

It'll be interesting to see how HCEK manages the pitching this weekend. As a reminder, all PLT games are nine-innings.
Our best three starters are Macchiarola, Wywoda and Bryant. Bryant had the best showing of the three against Navy (7 innings giving up one earned run).
LeMond, Needham, and Harnisch are the best guys out of the bullpen.
HCEK will use these six guys in some combination for the 27 innings (hopefully, for our sake, it's 18 innings).
Any guesses who gets the start in the first game? Bryant has started the first game in our PL weekend series. I'd venture to guess he gets the nod. The other advantage to starting our best guy in game one is that if he has a short outing, he could potentially turn around and pitch an inning or two on Sunday.
Question is whether HCEK brings Macchiarola or Wywoda out of the bullpen or not. Managing a best of three series is a lot different than a regular season weekend series (obviously).

Must have been looking at the Bucky score the week before. Should be a good series and I'd rather play Navy than Army based on our results this year. Hope our pitching can hold up through a 3 game series.
