Sox would not have won in 2004 and started the successful run without him. He was EBW’s protégée at Williams and Connolly and then left the law to work for his boss at the Orioles.

Forever grateful for this man for the vision to transform a neglected, polluted, depressing plot of land in the heart of downtown Worcester. Rest in peace Larry. A great man for sure.

In a sports world that desperately needs characters Larry was as big of one as they come.

He had a ton of fun with his WooSox/Polar Park project. He offered it to RI first so there should be no hard feelings. I saw a video, on YouTube I think, of him talking with an enthusiastic group of students at Assumption. The WooSox had an internship/employment program with Assumption. Larry talked all about being taught by Andy Laska at Summer camp. With HC he talked all about his idol as a kid, Bob Cousy. He enjoyed himself with this last project and didn't let the pandemic or naysayers beat him.

A glowing tribute to Larry should be made at the EBW Classic at Fitton Field this fall.

A glowing tribute to Larry should be made at the EBW Classic at Fitton Field this fall. Are they calling one of the football games the EBW Classic? Pretty clear that Larry sensed the end coming and made it easier for his family by cashing in on the ballclub; especially if there were no Lucchino family members who wanted to run it.

May his soul rest in peace and his loved ones find comfort. May he be safe at home and through the pearly gates before St. Peter has a chance to view the video tape.

Pretty sure Larry's ownership share increased after the sale this past winter. Many of the part owners from the Pawtucket days cashed out. Went from something like 11 owners to four. Larry was slowing down up until his passing. He was still going to public events here and there but you could tell his health was getting the best of him.

The NY Times Obituary is truly excellent and was written by a noted author of books on sports. Larry was very accomplished including as an attorney for the Watergate Committee. There was an article about Larry showing President VR around Polar Park before the first EBW Classic. Coming from a law school background, Vince must have appreciated Larry and the Polar Park/Worcester community connection.

I saw a report calling it congenital heart failure. Larry appeared lean and fit. I have read media reports saying it was congestive heart failure. It may be that he had congenital heart failure that ultimately progressed to congestive heart failure.

I believe that Theo did attend, along with Craig Breslow and others. It seems despicable that John Henry and Werner did not attend.
