His life: easily one of the most incredible stories that I’ve lived through.

May his soul rest in peace with all of his shortcomings forgiven. I still remember watching that now infamous "low speed chase."

I'm sure the real killer(s) must be breathing just a HUGE sigh of relief today now that the Juice is permanently off the case.
Always think of him when I see (resurrected starting in 2021) a Bronco go by.

If this murder happened today, we would have the text messages that OJ would have sent (because he couldn't imagine anyone rejecting him) and we would have GPS tracking from cell phones, neighbors' ring cameras, and the car's navigation device. The jury was able to hang their hat on lousy evidence collection techniques and a racist cop. It would be harder to do that, today.

How much longer until we hear from the Goldman family going after his estate? Or has he already done that?

Tough to ignore the blood trail back to his house, the DNA, the testimony of the limo driver, the cut finger, and his documented previous episodes of beating his ex-wife Nicole. Yet the jury did.
In the civil case justice prevailed.
Continued condolences to the family of Nicole Brown and Ron Goldman.

Interestingly, CNN played a clip today of when they broke into the Larry King show to start covering the slow speed White Bronco chase. Larry reported that police had tracked the white Bronco through OJ's "cellular" phone. Larry sounded a little surprised as it probably wasn't that common a technique back then and not everybody had cell phones, or "car phones" which seemed to be a thing before cell phones for the masses took hold.

How much longer until we hear from the Goldman family going after his estate? Or has he already done that? I think Ron Goldman may have been at the morgue rifling through OJ's pockets. Fortunately I've never been in Ron Goldman's position, and hopefully never will...but you want to make OJ's life a living hell as much as you can while he's still alive, fine, I understand it, a form of civil vengeance...but going after the estate, which he and his lawyer already addressed, just makes life hell for OJ's kids who are also victims in this. Its no longer enacting civil vengeance on OJ, but instead is profiting on the loss of a loved one.

I was watching GMA this morning and Ron Goldman was quoted as saying that they've collected only 1% of the judgment against O.J., and that while they will see if there's a way to recover from his estate, there was no accountability during Simpson's life and it looks like there won't any accountability after his death.

I seem to recall the car chase breaking into a sporting event I was watching (NBA finals?) and being annoyed
This was before the days of TV shows like CSI and NCIS making the average person aware of DNA testing. Back then most people were not familiar with that technique and all that evidence could look more like science fiction than science

Back then most people were not familiar with that technique and all that evidence could look more like science fiction than science That day was an epic day in sports. The World Cup started that day, Arnold Palmer had his final round in the US Open, NBA Finals were ongoing, and the Rangers had their parade. There is a great 30 for 30 on it.

There are a number of "Everyone remembers where they were when....." events. I think only OJ gave us two--the chase and the verdict.

I thought I would wait a respectful day before posting some of the many, many OJ jokes the late great Norm McDonald told on SNL. These jokes probably led to OJ buddy, Don Ohlmeyer, using his juice (pun intended) to get Norm fired.

WARNING: I have never been known for confining my jokes to good taste.
My favorite at the time was "If a Hall of Fame NFL superstar had to go crazy and brutally murder his wife, why couldn't it have been Frank Gifford?"

I’ve suggested OJ:Made in America as a documentary for the younger set who can’t quite grasp how riveting the case was for the American public at the time.
On a different note, I’m not at all certain the social scientists have fully explored the reaction of certain groups to the jury’s decision (in the face of the evidence) and long term effects of that reaction.

I recall being in a large office on the day of the verdict announcement. A TV was brought in for all to watch . Some folks were speculating about the verdict and were incredulous when I opined that “there is no way that he will be convicted. Zero chance of it”.

On a different note, I’m not at all certain the social scientists have fully explored the reaction of certain groups to the jury’s decision (in the face of the evidence) and long term effects of that reaction. The jury validated all the movies and stories about the corrupt/racist LAPD, which was an eye-opener for me. Turns out there was a hard societal cost of the mistreatment of minorities, that expressed itself in the verdict, imo.
